Show Me A Hero is based on the nonfiction book by Lisa Belkin. It tells the story of Nick Wasicsko (Isaac), the youngest big-city mayor in the nation who finds himself thrust into the center of a racial controversy when a federal court orders him to build a small number of low-income housing units in the white neighborhoods of his town, Yonkers, N.Y.. His attempt to do so tears the city apart, paralyzes the municipal government and, ultimately, destroys his political future.

Shows set in a long gone period of time. Even if that time happens to be the 80's. Basically everything not taking place in the present of the time of filming.

I don't really watch a lot of shows that focus on politics. Hence the adjacent postfix. Basically shows where politics are at least a b-plot. Or have a politician as a lead character. Okay, so I'm a little vague in my interpretation. It is my list, so my rules.
