Comic-Con 2011: New 'Spartacus' Star Liam McIntyre Makes Debut Appearance (Video)

Liam McIntyre  made his public debut Friday at Comic-Con, where he and his  Spartacus: Vengeance  team we so well-received with screams that you'd think  Twilight 's  Taylor Lautner  was in the house.   Showrunner  Steven S. DeKnight  wasted little time in making the introduction and also noted that he literally just met McIntyre on Thursday. "We've had some wonderful Skype sessions," he joked.   McIntyre steps into the role of Spartacus left vacant when star Andy Whitfield  departed the series as he battled cancer. Spartacus: Most Disturbing Sex Scenes

Underneath the saucy, salacious "of-the-era" sex of   Spartacus: Blood and Sand , and the prequel series   Gods of the Arena , lies a breathtakingly labyrinthine story about ambition, repression and destiny. If you've seen the show then you know how, shall we say, "free" the actors are with their bodies. But it also means you're privy to the fact that this tremendous Starz series is much more than the sum of its parts (heh).   But – HOLY CRAP! - sometimes it's just really hard to ignore the rampant boning. I mean, you'd think f***ing was an Olympic sport and that everyone was trying out for the team. These people knocked   boots   sandals like their lives depended on it. And sometimes their   lives did depend on it !    Read More... http://tv.ign.com/articles/115/1153400p1.html

Spartacus Draws Up a New Battle Plan With Prequel Series Gods of the Arena

Rome wasn't built in a day, but Spartacus: Gods of the Arena came damn close. This is the program Starz quickly green-lit last year when Season 2 of Spartacus: Blood and Sand had to be put on hold due to leading man Andy Whitfield's cancer diagnosis. The powers behind the hit series needed a way to maintain creative momentum and keep their cast and staff together until Blood could resume, with Whitfield's replacement, Liam McIntyre. (Production begins this spring.) Read More... http://www.tvguide.com/News/Spartacus-Draws-New-1028137.aspx?rss=breakingnews

Lucy Lawless on Merkin Use in 'Spartacus' Sex Scenes (VIDEO)

Lucy Lawless' role of Lucretia on the Starz series 'Spartacus' requires a bit of immodesty. The actress bares a lot of skin in explicit sex scenes, but the show uses merkins. Mer-what? Lawless explained the interesting wardrobe piece on 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated). A merkin, or a pubic wig, covers Lawless' private body parts. So, how does one make a merkin? http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/01/19/lucy-lawless-on-merkin-use-in-spartacus-sex-scenes-video/

Spartacus' Andy Whitfield Attacking Cancer "Like a True Champion"

Spartacus: Blood and Sand creator Steven. S. DeKnight wants Andy Whitfield's fans to know the actor is actively fighting the disease. "Andy of course is being very private about his condition and what he's going through with his family," DeKnight said Tuesday to discuss the prequel Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. "It's been a little while, but the last thing I heard was that he was attacking it like a true champion. I have the utmost faith that he will... http://www.tvguide.com/News/Spartacus-Andy-Whitfield-1028064.aspx?rss=breakingnews
