The winter finale of Supernatural was an episode of big victory (and crushing defeats) for the Winchester brothers. While the end of "LOTUS" saw Sam and Dean arrested by the Secret Service and Kelly determined to carry her literal spawn of Satan to term, the midseason finale also saw Sam and Dean defeat Lucifer ... again. Of course this only counts as a victory if you believe Sam and Dean actually sent Lucifer back to the cage. Sadly for the boys there is plenty of evidence in "LOTUS" to suggest they have much more work to do before they put Lucifer back in his cage. ...Read More... http://www.buddytv.com/articles/supernatural/reasons-why-lucifer-definitely-62437.aspx

Turns out The Walking Dead ’s Negan can’t whack everything in his path. Supernatural exec producer Andrew Dabb tells TVLine that Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s relatively new status as one of TV’s biggest evildoers ever does not preclude his potential return as Sam and Dean’s pa, John Winchester. "I don’t really worry about that because by the time he comes back, I’m sure [ Supernatural ] will have been on for 20 seasons at that point, and The Walking Dead will be long over," he says with a laugh before noting that "Jeffrey’s an amazing actor… He plays such a great bad guy. But at the same time… if you give him really good material, he can go back to being someone we know and love and someone we can empathize with." Read the full article at TVLine.com .
The title of Supernatural Season 12 Episode 8 , "LOTUS," is most likely a play off of POTUS, or President of the United States. And that probably means that Lucifer is vying to take the president as his latest vessel. Welcome back my fellow Supernatural fans. I trust everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday and I hope you didnt overdo it with the pie. If you did, Im sure Dean would understand. Supernatural came back with Team Free Will (plus one) finally getting a line on Lucifer. Apparently, it takes a little bit more than being stuck at the bottom of the ocean in a disintegrating vessel to keep Lucifer down. But it looks like that might not be such a good thing for humanity. The show decided to take Lucifer in a different direction than I expected, and Im not entirely sure how I feel about it. Instead of having Lucifer out to restart the Apocalypse or take over Heaven, the show decided to continue with the story they gave him last season so that means massive Daddy issues. Lucifer is furious at God for abandoning him again, and hes decided to throw the ultimate temper tantrum. On the one hand, I can see why they went that direction because this isnt exactly new territory for Luci. Hes hated God for a long time for one reason or another. The show did a bit of retconning last season when they said the root of Lucifers issues with God was God casting him out after he saw how The Mark was corrupting Lucifer. Back in season five, though, Lucifer said his issue was God casting him out after he refused to bow to humanity. Perhaps its a bit of both, but the bottom line is that Lucifers anger, hurt, and feeling of betrayal isnt new. The only real difference now is that hes not confined to The Cage thus allowing him to wreak all kinds of havoc on the world. On the other hand, theyve taken a character that was one of the best Big Bads the show has ever had and turned him into a cry baby. Hes always had Daddy issues, but I was much more sympathetic to them back in season five than I am now. Perhaps it was the way Lucifer decided to get back at Daddy. Perhaps it was that he was much more intimidating and deliciously evil. Even when Lucifer changed a bit after we saw him as Sams hallucination, he was still powerful and intimidating. He was intelligent and imaginative. Thats not the case now. Now hes basically just crying into his beer about how his Dad walked out on him again. Thats disappointing for a character that I enjoy as much as I enjoy Luci. Although, I agree with Sam that it makes Luci much more dangerous not to have any real plan for world domination. It also makes his moves much harder to anticipate thus more difficult to track. But if Luci holds true to form, hes going to leave quite a few bodies in his wake. ...Read More... http://www.tvequals.com/2016/12/02/supernatural-rock-never-dies-review-season-12-episode-7/
