Maybe a 5 is a little generous and most definitely bias from having watched everything up to this episode in the show so far- but this was something I swear even people who've never seen the show could appreciate. Although lots of references are made in this episode (as expected and one of it's good qualities), to someone watching Supernatural for the first time this would be considered a good watch (I don't want to give any spoilers so I'm not getting into any detail soz), considering it's plonked in the middle of a season and it put together really well, that reflects on the rest of the show being alright too. As episodes that act as more fillers and that aren't fully necessary, still are put together really well with a lot of thought, a great script, characters and ideas behind it all. Basically this episode shows supernatural being a show that does't deteriorate from quality in particular episodes or aspects which often happens, especially with long a series- haven't seen the whole series yet (I mean come on, it's 11 and about to be 12 seasons, that's a lot), this episode brings back to the fact that each episode has it's own story- as to still be very much interesting and entertaining, while still fitting into this bigger picture. Hats off to the amazing people who are behind this show.
