Survivor's Natalie: I Thought About Throwing Rob Under the Bus

She's been called lazy. She's been called a coattail-rider. But no matter what Survivor castaways and fans said about Natalie Tenerelli, it was her passive game play and her unflinching devotion to "Boston Rob" Mariano that earned her a spot in the final three. Unfortunately, these two traits were also her downfall and she received zero votes from the jury (she even came in behind Phillip Sheppard, which is really saying something). The 19-year-old professional dancer spoke with TVGuide.com about why she decided not to throw Rob under the bus, how she feels about the jury's — especially Julie Wolfe's — harsh words and why she wasn't as lazy as people think...  http://www.tvguide.com/News/Survivor-Natalie-Tenerelli-1033265.aspx?rss=breakingnews

Survivor Winner Boston Rob: "I'm Happy to Leave With the Way I Played"

Survivor fans know never to say never, but after returning for a fourth time and finally clinching the $1 million prize, "Boston Rob" Mariano seems finally ready to hang up his baseball cap and leave the game for good. "The main goal was to win the show and I did that," Mariano told reporters on a conference call Monday. "I'm happy to leave with the way I played and to go out at this point." Throughout this season of Survivor: Redemption Island , Mariano's game play was equally praised and criticized for what many called his...  http://www.tvguide.com/News/Survivor-Winner-Boston-Rob-1033162.aspx?rss=breakingnews

Rob Mariano Talks About Winning 'Survivor' (VIDEO)

Rob Mariano finally won something last night when his was the last torch left lit on 'Survivor.' Until then, Rob's wife Amber was the only 'Survivor' winner in the household. (They also lost as a couple on 'Amazing Race 7.') Today on 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM on CBS), Mariano talked about how it wasn't really the $1 million purse that motivated him to win, it was more a matter of being able to stand tall in his own house. "For the past seven years, I've had to hear it in my own house," said Mariano. "It wasn't so much about the money -- she's getting the check anyway. But now I'm at least on [a] level playing field with my wife when it comes to winners in the 'Survivor' household." http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/05/16/rob-mariano-winning-survivor-early-show-video/

'Survivor' winner Rob Mariano: His win was 'really, really satisfying'

"Boston" Rob Mariano finally climbed the "Survivor" mountain, taking home the grand prize and the title of Sole Survivor. He tells us in his exit interview about his experience this fourth time around on the show.On his strategy and his game being called "textbook" or "perfect":"First of all, coming from Jeff Probst, it's definitely a huge compliment, considering he's seen every episode of every single season first hand. I feel like I played the game to the best of my ability. Having said that, there's been hundreds of people who have played 'Survivor' and 21 different people have won the game, so different people have had different strategies and there's no clear-cut strategy that works for everyone ... It was the only way I could play the game, which is an aggressive, right-out-there, strategic strategy and not everybody could have pulled that off. I played to the best of my ability ... There's a lot... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/survivor-winner-rob-mariano-his-win-was-really-really-satisfying.html

'Survivor: Redemption Island's' Matt Elrod: 'I'd love to go back'

Matt Elrod, while not even finishing in the Top 5, was a fan favorite on "Survivor: Redemption Island." He lasted through 10 duels via the new Redemption Island twist and leaned heavily on his spirituality to help get him through the ordeal. He tells the press in his exit interview about his experience on the show and whether or not he'd go back.On how he decided who to vote for at the end:"My vote was based on 'Survivor' excellence. Even though I played a very different game than Rob, I still love and respect the game of Survivor. What he did was pretty incredible and he deserves the million dollars."Would he have the same strategy if he were to play again?"If I were to play again, I probably wouldn't divulge my strategy to you now. [laughs] I'm really not sure at this point. I'd love to go back, I'd love to have the opportunity, but... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/survivor-redemption-islands-matt-elrod-id-love-to-go-back.html

'Survivor: Redemption Island' Finale: The Winner Is ... (VIDEO)

Going into this three-hour finale extravaganza for 'Survivor: Redemption Island' (Sun., 8PM ET on CBS), one man has been running this game since Day One. 'Boston Rob' Mariano single-handedly orchestrated the elimination of the opposing tribe and managed to keep his own alliance of six strong until the end. At every turn, he had total control of the game, but toward the end it became more and more difficult to keep control. Ashley and Natalie have been considering their chances without the Rob-father, and there's still that element of Redemption Island, which has four people on the cusp of returning to the game. http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/05/16/survivor-redemption-island-finale-the-winner-is-video/

'Survivor: South Pacific': 2 cast members returning, Redemption Island sticks around

For Season 23 of "Survivor," the granddaddy of the competition reality shows is heading out to the South Pacific. The 16 castaways will be joined by two returning cast members and they will be taking the Redemption Island twist with them.Who do you think the returning cast members will be, "Survivor" fans? Russell and Rob facing off was a pretty of-the-moment scenario after they just finished "Heroes vs. Villains." Will they do a similar thing by having two of the craziest contestants face off with a Coach vs. Phillip season? That would be kind of awesome.Or maybe somebody like Matt, who was put through the wringer but came up short? Or somebody who had to leave the game due to medical reasons? We're excited to find out.We aren't as thrilled about the Redemption Island twist. It was interesting, but would've been moreso if the people who returned to the game had done anything. Maybe that... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/survivor-south-pacific-2-cast-members-returning-redemption-island-sticks-around.html

'Survivor' finale: David Murphy proposes to Carolina Eastwood of 'Survivor: Tocantins'

We thought the "Survivor: Redemption Island" reunion was going to be pretty boring. Boston Rob won (by a large margin) the million dollar prize and he also won (by a much slimmer margin) the America's vote money, which is what we all kind of assumed would happen. But then! David Murphy, the outspoken defense attorney, started talking with Jeff about how he met Carolina Eastwood of "Survivor: Tocantins" after he came home from filming and they've been dating since. He says it wasn't love at first sight, it was more that "she kind of put [him] in [his] place a few times before she actually gave [him] the time of day."After playing it coy, Jeff leads David into his planned proposal. David says, "You are the most amazing woman I've ever met. You challenge me, you drive me nuts, but at the end of the day you made me happier than I could ever ask to... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/survivor-finale-david-murphy-proposes-to-carolina-eastwood-of-survivor-tocantins.html
