"The Amazing Race" has an amazing hook for its 26th season -- half the racing couples have never met each other before in what is sure to be the ultimate blind date. Will the pre-existing couples have an advantage because they've known each other for years? Or will the brand new couples be too busy getting to know each other and staying on their best behavior to fight too much? It should be interesting to watch. Plus, "New Kids on the Block" member Jonathan Knight is one half of a pre-existing couple. Can they hang tough and make it all the way to the finish line?RELATED: Winners Amy and Maya loved the twist, even if fans didn'tCheck out these sneak peek photos of the first challenge, available exclusively onZap2it. Amazing Race's Misti and Jim: We Succumbed to Pressure

Misti and Jim fell short of not only winning The Amazing Race , but their goal of setting the mark for most leg victories in a single season. Though they won a season-leading five legs, the dentists also made some pretty big blunders along the way, which they attribute to pressure. "It was a relief to have it over with because we felt a lot of pressure," Misti tells TVGuide.com. "There was such an expectation, at least with our close friends and families, for us to win. The prior episodes were a lot more fun, obviously, because we were winning most of those!" Check out what else they have to say about the final leg, the two biggest things that surprised them and more.   Read More... http://www.tvguide.com/news/amazing-race-misti-jim-1091251.aspx?rss=breakingnews

Amazing Race's Amy and Maya: We're a "Great Underdog Story"

Friday's Amazing Race finale was pretty sweet. Food scientists and PhD students Amy and Maya , who specialize in candy and ice cream, came from behind, thanks to the four-team finale twist, to become the third all-female team to win the $1 million and the fourth team to do so without having won a leg prior to the finale. "It's pretty surreal," Amy tells TVGuide.com. "You never know what's going to happen. I think just because we're not physically intimidating and because of what we do, other teams definitely underestimated us." See what else they have to say about their victory, what they'll do with the money and if they really have a beef with Brooke and Robbie .   Read More... http://www.tvguide.com/news/amazing-race-winners-amy-maya-1091247.aspx?rss=breakingnews

'Amazing Race' winners Amy and Maya 'loved the twist' even if fans didn't

Hands down, Amy DeJong and Maya Warren would not have won Season 25 of the "The Amazing Race" if the new twist allowing four teams into the finals hadn't been introduced to the show. In the penultimate episode of the season, host Phil Keoghan revealed that for the first time in the show's history, four teams would be making it to the final leg of the race. For DeJong and Warren, that meant that even though they came in last in the second-to-last leg and would have been eliminated in any previous season, they were automatically allowed to continue racing. "It really shows 'The Amazing Race' is completely unpredictable -- there's always a new twist around the corner," DeJong tells Zap2it. "You just have to run the best race you can." CBSs 10-time Emmy winning The Amazing Race is changing formats for its 26th season. Amazing Race's Brooke and Robbie: "This Season Would've Been Super Boring Without Us"

Brooke and Robbie 's dominance on The Amazing Race was brief and their downfall, steep. After winning the penultimate leg, only to learn that they had to continue straight into the first four-team finale, the wrestlers were eliminated in fourth place midway through the final leg. Adding insult to injury: They were cut right before doing a Roadblock, and their frenemies Amy and Maya won. "It was pretty hard to watch. We didn't expect it to play out that way," Brooke tells TVGuide.com. "We made it way farther than we could've ever imagined. We're very proud of ourselves. I think we played the game the way we wanted to." Yes, that means reneging on U-Turn deals. See why they did that and if they really had it out for Amy and Maya.     http://www.tvguide.com/news/amazing-race-brooke-robbie-1091277.aspx?rss=breakingnews
