11 Bachelorette Contestant Bios That Stand Out... For The Wrong Reasons

To get ready for the premiere of The Bachelorette, ABC released pictures and bios of the men competing to win the heart of lucky Bachelorette 13: Rachel Lindsay. And while some of Rachels suitors seem normal, others seem unique. Personally, Im convinced some of the contestants dont realize their answers are going to be published on the Internet, and the majority of contestants just let the producers answer the questions for them. Either way, here are 11 contestants that Im predicting wont be getting down on one knee to propose to Rachel, but will probably find themselves as a meme or on the beach in Paradise. ...Read More...   https://www.tvfanatic.com/slideshows/11-bachelorette-contestant-bios-that-stand-out-for-the-wrong-rea/

The Most Important Shows on TV: Week of May 22, 2017

Which TV series will your friends (and the entire internet) be talking about this week? Stay informed — or at least be able to fake it — with SideReel's weekly guide to The Most Important Shows on TV.   The Bachelorette (Season Premiere) Monday at 9 p.m. on ABC Why: We don't always root for the man or woman at the center of ABC's OG dating show, but Rachel Lindsay is someone we can get behind. A down-to-Earth attorney who made it to the final three during Season 21 of The Bachelor , Lindsay was so engaging and likable that she was named the new Bachelorette while she was still a contestant on the big show. Weird, right? But who cares? She was — and remains — a delight. In the two-hour premiere, Lindsay gets advice from some familiar faces (among them: Alexis, Corinne, and Raven) before cutting a group of 31 suitors down to a much more manageable 23. As is expected, these dudes are bringing props, "clever" lines, and some bro jealousy. Particularly cute is the former childhood classmate who admits he's always had a crush on her. Later in the season, some celebrity guests show up, including a couple we're still not sure about, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, basketball legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and Ellen DeGeneres. Producers already have let Lindsay announce that she is, in fact, engaged, so don't expect any last-minute shenanigans. Prepare to talk about: How Rachel Lindsay is too good for this franchise; delicious bro tears; whether the "job" titles have finally jumped the shark ("tickle monster," really?).   Casual (Season Premiere) Tuesday at 3 a.m. on Hulu Why: Hulu's original awards contender is back for a third season, and things remain as complicated as ever for Alex, Valerie, and Laura. The action begins shortly after the siblings helped their father kill himself (see, it's complicated) and Val moved out of Alex's house. Now they meet up for awkward sibling dates to catch up. In the premiere, Alex is working through his intense loneliness by doubling down on therapy and bringing in Airbnb guests who are wholly unprepared for his neediness. Val, meanwhile, is trying to assert herself in a quietly tense battle with her new landlord (played by Jamie Chung). And Laura, as has become the norm, is skulking around being the worst teen on TV. The episode is a comfortable start to the show's new season, but there's a whopper of a shocker at the very end that will propel things in interesting ways. Prepare to talk about: That plot twist; poor Leon; Frances Conroy's perfect portrayal of a monster mom; upcoming guest star Chace Crawford and his terrifying hair.   Dirty Dancing (Special Event) Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ABC Why: Really, though. Why? Honestly, it's not terrible. It's not the kind of outright disaster you can hate-watch with glee, nor is it a joyful success. Here's what it is: It's a lot of very good actors being asked to do silly things. It's a milder and slightly embarrassing romance between the two leads (Abigail Breslin and Colt Prattes). It's a lot more of the backstory of the supporting characters, for better or for worse. And it's all sandwiched between a truly bizarre and unnecessary time jump involving the musical theater version of Dirty Dancing . Honestly, don't even watch these intro and outro segments. All that said, (young?) people who've never seen the original film could really enjoy this, as could fans of individual performers, like Breslin, who is that rare Hollywood kid success story; Debra Messing, whose mother character has much more to work with; and, believe it or not, Nicole Scherzinger, who low-key steals the whole thing as Penny. Prepare to talk about: Abigail Breslin's dancing, which is... a struggle; Nicole Scherzinger, who America continues to sleep on; how, if we're all honest, the original 1987 movie is pretty dumb too.   T.J.
