The 2011 Emmy nominations were announced today, and that's all anyone in the TV world can talk about. Of course our readers know how much we love to analyze everything TV (see our Best Drama Nominees video playlist and critic Mo Ryan's take), but sometimes clips speak louder than words. So we've rounded up the best moments of each of the nominated shows to give you a better idea of the competition's playing field.

'Big Bang Theory' Stars Achieve 'Odd Couple' Status with Double Emmy Nom

One of the most unexpectedly pleasant surprises of the 2011 Emmy nominations was Johnny Galecki, who will compete against his Big Bang Theory co-star Jim Parsons for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Parsons won last year and, as much as I love the entire ensemble of The Big Bang Theory , I was sure Parsons would be the only person to ever be nominated from the cast.

The Big Bang Theory Season 5 Scoop: Many Miles. Two Women. No Sex.

Leonard and Priya may have been on the verge of a split on The Big Bang Theory season finale, but producer Bill Prady has news for fans of the sitcom: "We’re going to put Leonard in a long distance relationship with Priya," he tells TV Line, adding that Penny will still have feelings for Johnny Galecki's character, meaning he'll be faced with "two women and no sex." Jim Parsons Books 'iCarly' Guest Role, 'Famous Foods' Gets Premiere Date and More TV News

'Big Bang Theory' star Jim Parsons is traveling across the space-time continuum networks for a guest role on Nickelodeon's 'iCarly.' According Entertainment Weekly, Parsons will play a psychiatric patient who believes he's from the future. The Emmy winner's character, Caleb, befriends Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) and her friends when they visit the psych ward he calls home. Jane Lynch and Jack Black have recently popped up in guest spots on the hit Nickelodeon series. Look for the episode featuring Parsons to air later this year as part of Season 4. In addition to his 'iCarly' gig, Parsons is appearing on Broadway in 'The Normal Heart' and will also be returning to 'The Big Bang Theory' on CBS this fall. In other TV news ...

TV Ratings: 'Love Bites' lives up to its name, NBA Finals programming wins Thursday for ABC

Fast National ratings for Thursday, June 2, 2011The long-delayed premiere of NBC's anthology romantic comedy, "Love Bites," failed to meet even the lowest expectations Thursday night. The series managed to pull in marginally better numbers than "30 Rock" reruns in the same time slot. ABC's NBA Finals programming, which introduced Game 2 between the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat with special episodes of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "NBA Countdown," was on top for the night, winning the network the most viewers and a strong lead in the key demo. ABC topped the night 10.96 million viewers and a 6.6 rating/11 share in households. CBS (7.9 million, 5.2/9) came in second, followed by FOX (5.98 million, 3.6/6) in third, NBC (2.6 million, 1.7.3) in fourth and The CW (1 million, 0.7/1) in last.The adults 18-49 demographic belonged to ABC, with a wide margin between its closest competition. TV ratings: 'So You Think You Can Dance' premiere up from last year

Fast National ratings for Thursday, May 26, 2011The premiere of "So You Think You Can Dance" started the summer TV season with solid ratings Thursday, improving on last year's debut and carrying FOX to a win for the night. FOX was the only network with original programming Thursday and led the night with 9.1 million viewers and a 5.1 rating/9 share in households. CBS (8.1 million, 5.1/9) finished second. There was a pretty sizable drop from CBS to third-place ABC (4.1 million, 2.6/4). NBC took fourth with 2.4 million viewers and a 1.5/3, while The CW drew a little under 1 million viewers and a 0.6/1.FOX led the adults 18-49 demographic by a wider margin, scoring a 3.2 rating while no one else managed to get above the 2.0 mark. CBS came in second with a 1.7, and ABC, 1.0, edged out NBC, 0.9, for third. The CW scored a 0.3 in the demo....
