I don't know why so many people call this a 'filler' episode... are they kidding!?!This episode was awesome... Did they miss Liz's MOTHER?!? When Red said he didn't catch her name, my hair stood on end! Didn't they catch the name on the necklace? And Jack & Ida... Liz's mom & pop? Liz's mom walked into the sea, remember. But Red saved her. Come on, this episode was full of clues. Red can't reconcile his guilt over Liz's death. IMO he wanted to kill himself and Liz's mom saved HIM!

obyssgirl says it all. :) Apart from one thing I have to add, I thought James Spader's acting throughout was a masterclass in grief and denial, showing a man desperately struggling to keep going, even though he can't think why. He is lost. It's one of the best pieces of acting I've seen in a long, long time. He deserves an Emmy just for this episode alone. I couldn't take my eyes off him, every nuanced glance, every flicker of emotion over his face, his mannerisms, all the things he didn't say - truly outstanding.
