Kyra Sedgwick Joins Brooklyn Nine-Nine! The Closer Actress Returns to TV in Season 2 Guest Spot

Good news for Kyra Sedgwick fans who miss her days on The Closer! The actress is heading back to TV with a guest role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The Closer? More like the Opener, as Kyra Sedgwick has just re-opened the door to her TV career, signing on to join the cast of Fox's Brooklyn 99. According to Entertainment Weekly, Sedgwick will again play a detective, but this time SHE'LL be the one putting pressure on the precinct, and we're told her mission is to shut them down. She'll be playing Deputy Chief Madeline Wuntch who has a lot of history with Andre Braugher's character, Captain Holt, and apparently none of it is good. 'The Closer' finale and 'Major Crimes' premiere both score big audiences

The series finale of "The Closer" drew the show's second-biggest audience ever Monday night (Aug. 13) -- and provided a big platform for the launch of its spinoff series, "Major Crimes."Just under 9.1 million people said goodbye to Kyra Sedgwick and "The Closer," making the finale the No. 2 episode in the show's history behind the third-season finale (9.2 million) in September 2007. TNT says it expects Monday's episode to pass the 2007 show's Live +7 ratings (9.95 million) when the final numbers are released in a couple of weeks."Major Crimes," meanwhile, followed "The Closer" with a premiere audience of 7.2 million viewers. It bumps another TNT show, "Dallas," out of the top spot for the biggest cable series premiere of 2012.
