‘The Killing’ Fourth and Final Season Premiere Date Announced by Netflix [+Video]

The Killing  will rise once more. After surviving cancellation by AMC twice,  The Killing  is returning for a fourth and final season exclusively on Netflix. All six episodes of the last chapter in Linden and Holder’s journey will be available for binge watching on August 1st. Season four will find Holder and Linden investigating a murder that takes place at a military school. The Killing Casts New Series Regulars for Season 4

The Killing  has added three series regulars for its fourth and final season, which will consist of six episodes that  will air on Netflix . Joan Allen Joining The Killing

  Joan Allen has joined the cast of The Killing for the show's upcoming fourth Netflix-only season, according to TV Guide . She'll be on a "major multi-episode arc" as the stern headmaster at an all-boys military school that's connected to the central murder mystery of the season; her character reportedly "projects a maternal instinct to the troubled young men in her charge," but was also dishonorably discharged from the military. Michelle Forbes is jumping from one heated role into another. The actress will guest star on “Rake,” Fox’s new drama from director Sam Raimi and Sony Pictures TV, TheWrap has learned exclusively. Forbes will appear on Episode 106 as Lucy Marks, who’s described as a very put together woman whose daughter was convicted of murder. 'The Killing' is the show that would not die: Netflix orders 6-episode final(?) season

For a show called "The Killing," it sure has a lot of life in it. After airing three seasons on -- and twice being canceled by -- AMC, the moody, rainy crime drama is getting six more episodes on Netflix. The streaming service says it's a "final" season, but we'll believe that sometime around, oh, 2028.Stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman will return for the fourth season, as will showrunner Veena Sud and rest of the creative team. Production is scheduled to begin early next year; a premiere date hasn't been set.
