'The Killing' revived for Season 3: Mireille Enos, Joel Kinnaman and Veena Sud return for 12 episodes in 2013

AMC and Fox Television Studios have officially revived "The Killing" for Season 3 with stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman and showrunner Veena Sud all set to return. But the most important news of all: "Season three will focus on a new case, which will be resolved over the course of 12 episodes." It's right there in the official announcement, they swear! The announcement also provides a clue to what that new case will be: "A year after closing the Rosie Larsen case, Sarah Linden is no longer a detective. But when her ex-partner Stephen Holder's search for a runaway girl leads him to discover a gruesome string of murders that connects to a previous murder investigation by Linden, she is drawn back into the life she thought she'd left behind."She tried to get out, and they pulled her back in! Just like "The Killing's" audience.Filming for Season 3 begins Feb. 25 in Vancouver and it sounds... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/01/the-killing-revived-for-season-3-mireille-enos-joel-kinnaman-and-veena-sud-return-for-12-episodes-in.html

'The Killing' Season 3 fate still undecided at AMC: Who might return to the series?

On this week's Season 2 finale of "The Killing," we finally found out who killed Rosie Larsen -- but was it too late for viewers? After the Season 1 finale, there was certainly some backlash from an audience that expected answers and didn't get any. By the time the murderer was revealed, viewership had plummeted. Though a new mystery did emerge in the finale, AMC has yet to announce a potential Season 3.Variety reports that AMC is still debating the fate of the murder mystery series. With viewership at about 1.5 million for the Season 2 finale, "The Killing" rates considerably lower than AMC's other original series including "Mad Men" and "Hell on Wheels." No decisions have been made at the network level.Apparently, if the series does return for a third season, fans can expect Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman to return -- along with, potentially, Billy Campbell -- but for much of the rest... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/06/the-killing-season-3-fate-still-undecided-at-amc-who-might-return-to-the-series.html

'The Killing' Season 3: 'There is another crime that they already have planned out,' says Jamie Anne Allman

"The Killing" wrapped up its Rosie Larsen mystery Sunday (June 17) in the Season 2 finale. But what is coming next if the show returns for a third season?Actress Jamie Anne Allman, who played Aunt Terry on the show, is probably done with the series - since she was revealed to have been the actual killer. But she does share a few tidbits with Zap2it about Season 3."They've alluded to the backstory of Linden, which is very interesting, about her past and backstory from the previous cases," says Allman. "I also know that there is another crime that they already have planned out that is really incredible where they could introduce a whole new cast.""I also think Mirielle [Enos] and Joel [Kinnaman] are great together and have great chemistry, they'll do a great job on another season and I hope they get one," she finishes. What do you think, "Killing" fans? 'The Killing's' Jamie Anne Allman: 'I started crying' when I found out who the killer was

Fans of "The Killing" were thrown for a bit of a loop in the Season 2 finale when it turned out that Rosie Larsen's Aunt Terry, played by Jamie Anne Allman, was responsible for sending the still-alive Rosie into the pond in the trunk of the car (albeit, not knowing it was Rosie).Allman tells Zap2it some interesting backstory about the process, including how upset she was when she found out who the killer was. "I found out a couple hours before we did the table read for the finale. [Creator Veena Sud] called me and was like, 'Jamie, I need to talk to you." and I thought I was in trouble," says Allman. "She's like, 'I just want to tell you that Terry did it.' and I said, 'What? What are you talking about?' And she goes, 'Terry's the killer.'""And I was like, 'What?! What do you mean?!' I was really upset, I started crying,"... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/06/the-killings-jamie-anne-allman-i-started-crying-when-i-found-out-who-the-killer-was.html

The Killing Finale: Were You Satisfied With the Reveal of Rosie's Killer?

Last night viewers finally discovered who killed Rosie Larsen. After two seasons of red herrings, crazy twists, and a whole lot of rain, The Killing answered its central mystery with an emotional finale that provided both the Larsens and the audience with some closure. On the heels of last week's penultimate episode, it appeared that The Killing may have been setting up one last red herring; there was no way in most viewers' minds (including our own writer Jon's) that Richmond campaign advisor, Jamie Wright, was solely responsible for Rosie's death. However, the finale's first fifteen minutes showed how deep Jamie's involvement had been: he had beaten Rosie, chased her down she had escaped into the woods, and put her in his truck, all for the sake of "helping" Richmond's political career. Jamie could not help himself though. Right after confessing his crimes to Richmond, Jamie was shot dead by Holder. He and Linden arrived on the scene right after Jamie had finally broken to Richmond's questioning, and when Jamie would not drop the gun he was holding, Holder had no choice but to shoot. It appeared that the show was solving its crime early, opting to focus on the emotional healing of the Larsen family and Holder and Linden, the two detectives who went above and beyond to try and solve this case, even in the face of harsh consequences. 'The Killing' Season 3: Where should the show go from here?

The Season 2 finale of "The Killing" wrapped up the Rosie Larsen murder, which you can read all about in our post-game analysis. We found the ending to be pretty satisfying - the clues about Aunt Terry's involvement have always been lurking around, but that final twist was quite the punch to the gut. A tragedy of Grecian proportions. And the actors - Michelle Forbes, Brent Sexton and Jamie Anne Allman - really sold the heck out of the confession scene. But where is the show going in Season 3? The show wrapped up the Larsen family (obviously), but left a few cliffhangers that Season 3 could pick up on. The question is - do you want them to?Linden and Holder are both wonderfully flawed characters and so interesting to watch, due in large part to Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman doing such a bang-up job. The Season 2 finale left them parting ways for... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/06/the-killing-season-3-where-should-the-show-go-from-here.html
