TV ratings: World Series tops Wednesday, 'CSI' up with 300th episode

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013The opening game of the World Series scored solid ratings for FOX, improving significantly on last year's Game 1 and carrying the network to an across-the-board victory in primetime.FOX's baseball coverage didn't have a lot of effect on the other networks, however, as most shows were fairly steady from a week ago. The 100th episode of "The Middle" was steady with its last original episode on ABC, and "Modern Family" was down a little but kept its spot as the night's top scripted show in adults 18-49. "Criminal Minds" and "CSI" were both up a bit for CBS, but "Arrow" and "The Tomorrow People" were down some. NBC's "Revolution" was about even.FOX delivered 13.7 million viewers and an 8.2 rating/13 share in households for the night, easily topping CBS' 10.4 million viewers and 6.5/10. ABC (6.95 million, 4.5/7) came in third, and NBC (4.8 million, 3.2/5) took fourth.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/10/tv-ratings-world-series-tops-wednesday-csi-up-with-300th-episode.html

'The Middle': 'The 100th' celebrates Orson in all its cow-burning glory

"The Middle" has reached the century mark, and in keeping with the show's very unflashy but almost always reliable brand of comedy, it didn't try anything crazy to mark the occasion. Or no crazier than a giant burning cow, at any rate.Wednesday's (Oct. 21) show was called "The 100th" (in honor of Orson's centennial as well as the episode count), and Mike and Frankie had a long can-you-believe-we're-still-here sort of conversation, but other than that, it kept the meta-commentary and self-consciousness to a minimum in favor of just telling a couple of good stories about the Hecks and their town. The beats were familiar: Frankie and Mike got roped into taking part in something without their recollection. Axl and his Boss Co. partners did not pull off their latest venture. Sue fretted about Darrin and turned to Brad for help. Brick was too smart for his own good. But when it works, you don't mess with... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/10/the-middle-the-100th-celebrates-orson-in-all-its-cow-burning-glory.html

TV ratings: 'Arrow' returns down but 'The Tomorrow People' has decent start Wednesday

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013Ratings for The CW Wednesday were a little bit of a bad news-good news situation. The bad news was that "Arrow's" season premiere was off a good amount from its series debut a year ago (though it was in line with its final few episodes of last season). The good news was the premiere of "The Tomorrow People" did a very good job of holding its lead-in audience and posted pretty decent numbers.Elsewhere Wednesday, the big four networks all finished below last week as everything from "Modern Family" to "The X Factor" to "CSI" dropped a little. Among the few exceptions: NBC's "Revolution" was even with last week, and ABC's "The Middle" rose slightly in viewers while holding steady in adults 18-49.CBS led the night in viewers with 9.7 million along with a 6.2 rating/10 share in households. ABC (7.2 million, 4.6/8) edged FOX (7.1 million, 4.4/7) for... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/10/tv-ratings-arrow-returns-down-but-the-tomorrow-people-has-decent-start-wednesday.html
