The Office Reviews & Ratings

30 minutes

A mock-umentary of Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company's office in the podunk setting of Scranton, Pennsylvania. The show focuses on the employees of Dunder-Mifflin, like the oblivious manager, Michael Scott (Steve Carrell), or crass know-it-all, Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson). In fact, the show features a whole host of neurotic characters, tempered only by the sane lovebirds, Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski). Based on The Office (UK), a BBC comedy created by and starring Ricky Gervais, who also produces the American version.

It's just funny but it goes downhill a bit after Michael left. They did their best to keep the show fresh.

Surprisingly, one of the best comedies on TV.

Being such a huge fan of the UK version, I was not expecting to enjoy it (not sure why America insists on remaking all of our shows instead of just watching our version) and after watching the pilot, I thought my expectations were correct. It was almost shot for shot the same as the original pilot and I did not want to watch a series of over the top impressions.

But 9 years later, I finally forced myself to give it a real chance and so glad I did. Once you get past the first season, it really comes into its own and becomes an original and hilarious series. And gave me a chance to see the Jim & Pam / Tim & Dawn relationship beyond first getting together.

Amazing show. Not exactly on the level of Parks and Rec, but only because it took 2 seasons to start really resonating with me. Really relatable, and you get really into it. I know 9 seasons sounds like a lot, but watch it if you haven't. You won't regret it, I guarantee it! The last seasons was spectacular, and the one before it too. Not as bad as people say it is, just because Steve Carell isn't in it.

Started out strong. Really funny! Last couple seasons were pretty rough to get through. Almost didn't make it. The very last season was just plain awful. It's like they gave up trying. Series finale almost made it worth it though. Solid ending to what started out as a great show!

THE OFFICE! i have never seen the original UK version of the show, and started to watch this show upon reference from a close friend- but now i follow their lead and recommend it to everyone. I realize some people aren't into the documentary style cinematography but in my opinion its what makes the show so unique in its style of comedy! its cold, subtle humour was stronger in its direction and physical comedy and also in its fantastic dialogue. The show was at its best in the first multiple seasons when Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) was the office manager. But my loyalty to the show kept me hooked even after he had left.

There was a time I was totally and utterly in love with this show. Comedy could just not get more brilliant than this and as a super sweet bonus it has a romantic story line that made your heart melt.
I devoured the first seasons. And then sadly Michael Scott left and the show was never the same again.
But up untill that point it was funny, akward, happy, uncomfortable and rediculous all at the same time.

Sigh..I whish I could un-see this show just so I could see those first seasons all over again for the first time... good times.

Please also check out the original UK series. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are brilliant comedy masterminds.
