'The Office': 'Michael's Last Dundies' Preview (VIDEO)

It's Michael Scott's last Dundies ceremony on 'The Office,' but he's not leaving without one heck of a show. If these promo clips from the appropriately titled 'Michael's Last Dundies' (Thursday, 9PM on NBC) are any indication, the episode will be one to remember. Watch for Meredith's big win and surprising kiss, a war of words between Ryan and Pam (over crack and breadsticks, naturally) and a very, very nervous DeAngelo (Will Ferrell). Will DeAngelo be able to fill Michael's shoes? http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/04/18/the-office-michaels-last-dundies-video/

TV ratings: Will Ferrell gives 'The Office' a bump, but 'Idol' rules the night

Fast National ratings for Thursday, April 14, 2011Will Ferrell's debut on "The Office" gave the show a bit of a ratings boost Thursday, making it the top scripted show of the night among adults 18-49. The premiere of "The Paul Reiser Show," however, pretty well flopped. As usual, "American Idol" led FOX to victory for the night; the network averaged 16.5 million viewers and a 9.6 rating/15 share in households. CBS was a distant second with 8.5 million viewers and a 5.5/9. NBC (4.6 million, 2.9/5) beat a night of drama repeats on ABC (4.4 million, 2.8/5) for third. The CW was up slightly in viewers over last week, drawing 2.5 million people and a 1.5/2.FOX dominated the adults 18-49 demographic with a 4.9 rating, more than double the average of second-place NBC (2.1). No one else broke the 2.0 mark: CBS finished third with a 1.6, followed by ABC, 1.3, and The CW, 1.0.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/04/tv-ratings-will-ferrell-gives-the-office-a-bump-but-idol-rules-the-night.html

Top Moments: Good Wife's Bad News and Office's New Boss

Our top moments of the week: 13. Slowest Learning Curve:   Before hearing the results of the Australia Gold sunscreen challenge,   Celebrity Apprentice 's Team Backbone project manager   Mark McGrath   says he will take all responsibility if his team loses. It did and he does — until he decides to backpedal and switch the focus to   Gary Busey   and his crazy antics. But it's too little too late. Silly Mark, don't you know Trump always fires the person who takes the blame? 12. If the Shoe Fits Award:   For the second straight week on   Dancing with the Stars ,   Kirstie Alley suffers an unexpected mishap when her shoe comes off mid-waltz. She manages to get it back on to finish the routine, but is visibly and understandably embarrassed by her misfortune. Look on the bright side, Kirstie: At least   this didn't happen . 11. Best F-Bomb:   On   Modern Family , Cameron's tyrannical theatrics as Franklin Middle School's interim musical director ("[The kids will] never forget how I Sondheim-ized them!") foreshadow the spectacular failure of his production. ( Sound familiar? ) When Luke, who's dangling from a harness, is unable to display the letter L for the harmonious finale message "We Love the World," Cam orders Franklin's "majestic insignia" of a gigantic purple F lowered. The new message? "We Love the F Word." Read More... http://www.tvguide.com/News/Top-Moments-Good-Wife-1031870.aspx?rss=breakingnews

'The Office': Who are Merv Bronte and Nellie Bertrum?

We know the big "Office" news this week is the debut of Will Ferrell as new/interim Dunder Mifflin manager Deangelo Vickers. But allow us to look a month or so ahead, to the season finale. The final episode of the season -- and third of the post-Michael Scott era -- will feature guest stars Ray Romano, Catherine Tate, Will Arnett and James Spader. And thanks to "Office" writer/producer/Kelly Mindy Kaling, we now know their characters' names."William Arnett plays 'Fred Henry,' Raymond Romano plays 'Merv Bronte,' and James Spader plays 'Robert California,'" Kaling tweeted on Tuesday (with the blessing of "Office" showrunner/Toby Paul Lieberstein). "These are real, guys."Tate's character, Kaling added a couple minutes later, is named Nellie Bertrum. She also takes credit for half of the "Merv Bronte" name, saying she suggested the last name and fellow writer Daniel Chun pitched "Merv." "It's one of our greatest collaborations," she notes.Based on their having least silly character... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/04/the-office-who-are-merv-bronte-and-nellie-bertrum.html

'The Office': Mindy Kaling Reveals Will Arnett, Ray Romano Character Names

Mindy Kaling, the multitasking star of 'The Office' who also writes and produces the show, revealed a little more information on the highly anticipated guest stars who plan to drop by the Dunder Mifflin Scranton branch later this season. "Naming new characters is one of the most fun times in a writers room, as @KenTremendous [former 'Office' writer/'Parks and Recreation' co-creator Michel Schur] can attest. Takes a tiny, silly part of the brain!" she Tweeted. Lucky for us, Kaling was given permission by none other than 'Office' showrunner Paul Lieberstein to let us all in on that fun process. She wrote, "I've been authorized by Paul Lieberstein (my boss/Toby (weird, right?)) to reveal all the guest stars glorious and ridiculous names today!" http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/04/12/the-office-mindy-kaling-will-arnett-ray-romano-names/
