TV ratings: 'Bachelorette' wedding fizzles while 'Sunday Night Football' rules for NBC

Fast National ratings for Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012The matchup of the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots resulted in big ratings for NBC's "Sunday Night Football" this week, giving the broadcast one of its biggest audiences of the season.CBS also got a big boost from an afternoon NFL game that ate up nearly the entire first hour of primetime, which in turn helped the "Survivor: Philippines" finale improve on last spring's finale. ABC's "Bachelorette" wedding special, however, got hammered, finishing last in both of its hours. The networks also carried coverage of President Obama's speech at the Newtown, Conn., memorial around 8:30 p.m., which will have an effect on the final numbers. For now, though, CBS leads the viewer race with just under 17 million and a 10.1 rating/16 share in households. NBC (16.9 million, 9.9/15) was a very close second. ABC (4.2 million, 2.6/4) finished a distant third, and FOX (3.3 million, 1.5/4)... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/12/tv-ratings-bachelorette-wedding-fizzles-while-sunday-night-football-rules-for-nbc.html
