Watch it and we're sure you'll agree. In the intro, all the buildings in Springfield rise like they do in the "Game of Thrones" intro, complete with the theme music. Springfield as Westeros. Actually, we'd love to see an entire show with that theme. Although Bart and Lisa as Jaime and Cersei ... maybe not.Check out the intro below and let us know what you think. And while you're at it, click here to check out the brand new trailer set to Florence and the Machine's "Seven Devils." 'The Simpsons': A soundtrack to our laughter

With "The Simpsons" 500th episode airing on Sunday (Feb. 19), the show will be celebrated for its wit, pop culture references and overall comedy. But one thing that's often overlooked about the series is the quality of its musical numbers. The show has written countless tunes, or in other cases, taken famous songs and re-written them for the show. These ditties range from a melancholy Apu singing about how he misses the Kwik-E-Mart to a send up of "The Music Man" as the whole town looks for a mass transit system. Here's a list of some of our favorites and why we adore them so much:"Baby On Board" - Homer, Apu, Principal Skinner and Barney rocked the music charts as the barbershop quartet, "The Be Sharps." Their story, in many ways, parallels that of The Beatles on their rise to super-stardom and subsequent break up. The episode even featured George Harrison as himself. But it was their... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/02/the-simpsons-a-soundtrack-to-our-laughter.html

TV ratings: Super Bowl XLVI close to a record in early returns

The Super Bowl may not quite set a ratings record for the third straight year -- but it could come awfully close.Metered-market ratings for Super Bowl XLVI show the game scoring a 47.8 rating/71 share in Nielsen's metered-market ratings, which for live broadcasts are sometimes a better indicator of the audience than the fast national ratings, which are below. That's just a tenth of a point behind the last two Super Bowls, which are the No. 1 and No. 2 telecasts in U.S. television history.Following the game, the premiere of "The Voice" scored a 19.4/33 in the metered markets, considerably better than FOX's broadcast of "Glee" (15.3/27) last year.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/02/tv-ratings-super-bowl-xlvi-close-to-a-record-in-early-returns.html

'The Simpsons': WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to guest in show's 500th episode

"The Simpsons" has never been a show to shy away from controversy. They've gone after everyone from presidents to celebrities to their own broadcaster, FOX. But a casting decision to celebrate their 500th episode may be their most shocking move yet.The animated comedy has cast WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to play himself in the Feb. 19 show, EW.com is reporting. In the episode, Homer and Marge find out that after 499 episodes, Springfield residents are getting sick of them and are looking to throw them out of town. Because of this "the Simpsons go off the grid to this very rugged place where they meet [Assange], who's sort of their new Flanders," EP Al Jean says. As for whether Assange will act like Flanders, don't count on it. Jean adds, "The similarities end there...He invites them over for a home movie and it's an Afghan wedding being bombed."Assange is quite the polarizing figure. As the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/01/the-simpsons-wikileaks-founder-julian-assange-to-guest-in-shows-500th-episode.html
