'The Simpsons': 500th episode set to air Feb. 19

We've known for a while that the milestone 500th episode of "The Simpsons" would come somewhere early in 2012, but FOX has now nailed down a date for the episode: Sunday, Feb. 19. The episode is called "At Long Last Leave," and it involves the Simpsons being evicted from Springfield and taking up residence with a group of people who live off the grid outside town. Marge and Homer try to sneak back in, but they learn pretty fast that they're no longer welcome.FOX is marking the occasion by challenging fans to break the Guinness world record for continuous TV watching. It currently stands at just over 86 hours, but the network is hoping someone can make it all the way through the entire series of "The Simpsons" to date (which would be in the neighborhood of 183 hours, assuming 22 minutes per episode). Information on the contest is at TheSimpsons.com and the show's Facebook... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/01/the-simpsons-500th-episode-set-to-air-feb-19.html

'The Simpsons': Steve Carell to join as Fat Tony's accountant

Steve Carell may have retired from "The Office," but that doesn't mean he's done with prime time comedy. Things will get tough for Gillick when he might have to run the mob while Fat Tony is on jury duty."He's nervous, and then Fat Tony says that he's got to kill some people and then he's really nervous because he actually wants to do it," says show EP Al Jean. "The line between Ivy League MBA and ruthless murderer is a very thin one." Dan, clearly not good at reading the tea leaves, seeks advice from Homer on what to do. The two meet initially while bowling. So Zappers, are you excited about this future episode?... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/12/the-simpsons-steve-carell-to-join-as-fat-tonys-accountant.html

'Simpsons' on the Jury for Peter and the Boys on 'Family Guy' (VIDEO)

After a fun cameo by 'King of the Hill' on 'The Simpsons' earlier in the night, 'Family Guy' (Sun., 9PM ET on FOX) went for a triple crossover. This time, though, it wasn't exclusively with Seth MacFarlane's other shows. Well, not entirely. In a rather blatant attempt to remind viewers about 'The Cleveland Show,' Cleveland and Donna both crossed over to Quahog, with Cleveland reuniting with the boys for a road trip adventure. The adventure itself saw them arrested under false charges and tried before a jury of their peers. "I don't think they see it that way," Joe said after the camera panned across a jury made up entirely of characters from 'The Simpsons.' It's a pretty accurate assessment of the two shows which may share a night and a network, but little else as the people behind making both shows don't seem to get along very well. http://www.aoltv.com/2011/12/05/simpsons-on-the-jury-for-peter-and-the-boys-on-family-guy-v/
