TV ratings: Winter Olympics slip a little Thursday, 'Idol' results down too

Fast National ratings for Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014The finals of women's figure skating at the Winter Olympics didn't produce any American medalists, and also didn't give NBC a ratings boost, as Thursday's numbers were off a tick from Wednesday night. As usual, though, they were more than big enough to win the night easily. The unveiling of the Top 13 on "American Idol" also didn't produce much excitement as the show hit a season low in adults 18-49. The night's only other first-run show was the finale of "The Taste" on ABC -- it improved a bit in viewers and was flat in the 18-49 demographic.NBC scored 19.9 million viewers and a 12.0 rating/19 share in households for the night. CBS (6.63 million, 4.3/7) and FOX (6.61 million, 4.2/7) finished in a virtual tie for second. ABC was fourth with 2.95 million viewers and a 2.1/3. The CW (815,000, 0.6/1) brought up the rear.NBC's 4.9 rating... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/tv-ratings-winter-olympics-slip-a-little-thursday-idol-results-down-too.html

Who won 'The Taste' Season 2?

Going into the finale of "The Taste" Season 2, Ludo Lefebvre had three team members left -- Marina Chung, Jeff Kawakami and Louise Leonard -- to one cook on Anthony Bourdain's team, Lee Knoeppel. The other two chefs had no contestants remaining. For the semifinal challenge, international chef Jacques Pépin was there to judge. Each chef prepared a "poor dish" and a "rich dish," which made for quite the contrasting ingredients. Pépin put through (in order) Marina, Louise and Lee, leaving Jeff eliminated before the finals. The final challenge was a "Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner" challenge -- three mouthfuls, one each for each meal of the day. With Chef Pépin helping them in the kitchen!Marina made English muffin with quail egg, a pork belly and oyster spring roll and short ribs with kale for her three stages. Louise chose a fried quail egg, fried oyster po' boy and steak with red wine sauce and mushrooms. TV ratings: 'American Idol' steady Thursday, Olympics rise a little

Fast National ratings for Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014The Winter Olympics gave NBC another dominant ratings win Thursday, as the network's coverage improved a bit on Wednesday's numbers. Overall, the games are running a bit behind the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver -- as expected when the games are staged outside North America."American Idol" held up fairly well opposite the Olympics, as the unveiling of the 30 semifinalists was off only a tenth of a point in adults 18-49 vs. last week.
