A steel beam is installed to provide support for the addition; an oil tank is removed; and digging the new foundation commences. Also: visiting local examples of English-style Arts and Crafts houses. In the second half: building a bookshelf using stair treads and minimal tools; and creating a front garden from wild foundation plantings.
