What went wrong?
The plot is good: mankind gets almost eliminated by a virus that brings back the dead (ok, nothing new there) and a handful of people band together to fight the odds.
But honestly (for me) they messed it up along the way. I no longer care for any of the characters in that show. C'mon zombies, eat their brains and be done with it.
I mean, they fight those "walkers" now for a few years, they even have encountered devious humans and still they get trapped...the learning curve for them seems lower then that of someone with IDD.
This show is as dead as the walkers who are zombies...

Edit: I actually watched the whole midseason premiere s6e9, without skipping through the boring stuff. The writers of this show are great, they had some new ideas: give the main cast an alleged safe haven that makes their life better, let them make some new (again alleged) allies and take it all away, probably kill off or injure some main cast, and some new friends to make the audience care and voilá.....no wait, that's not new, we had that with the farm, the science stattion, the prison, the train station and this nice little town...by the ratings of others, I can tell that a great many do like that show, and that's ok, but seriously, I have to asume that the long-term memory has suffered due to too much TV show exposure. My rating stands. This show was great in the first 2 or 3 years, but not it is rotting away...

Shows based on graphic novels are pretty much the best.

Been really into this for a while but now I haven't watched for months and I've yet to see the last couple of seasons. We'll see what happens.

I Love "THE WALKING DEAD" for post apocalyptic/pandemic drama horror at its finest ever, always has me thinking WHAT IF? how people(general public) would behave and or react in a similar circumstance of survival.

Zombies (sorry for using that word to the hardcore walking dead fans) are in, they've been in for a number of times and they aren't going away. I hear "Not another Zombie thing, they are so out now" and that's not true because people keep watching them, especially the cheap and tacky ones. The only thing in recent years that we have strayed from is the stereotypical zombie that has a fondness of brains, zombies these days generally have no preference.

The Walking Dead has it all, I guess it was one of the shows that started off the "shock factor" by killing off what are up until that point major charactors. The show creaters got into the habit of just completly blindsiding you which was genius because it made you want to watch the next episode. Now granted, at times like all shows for a few episodes here and there they can drag on. You can't expect any TV Show to drop an epic episode every single time, no matter which show you look at past or present from time to time each one has had a rubbish episode, charactors you aren't fond of and storylines you didn't like and Walking Dead is no exception to that at times. Sometimes even though a charactor might be hevaily involved at present they just can't seem to get over to the viewers as much and with The Walking Dead again this is no exception as you will have to get used to quite quickly dealing with comings and goings on a regular basis.

So regardless for a quick intro to it if you've been living under a rock on marks with your eyes shut and hands over your ears, it begins after the world has recently been devistated by a virus that has spread which appears to bring the dead back to a form on unintelligent life some team after they originally expired and the result is that they are like zombies and will wonder the earth until they are killed by having there brain destroyed, not just by decapitation and you basically follow a group of people as they battle to survive through the many obsticles that stand in their way. That is the basic short version. Also not for the sqeashmish, they do push the mordern day boundaries with blood and gore.

A lot of ups and downs, if you can handle gore you should watch this.
