The Walking Dead 2.07 "Pretty Much Dead Already" Review

Criticism of The Walking Dead 's pacing has certainly been in no short supply since the show's second season premiered. I've even been one of those critics -- in my review of last week's "Secrets," I pointed out how frustrated I was that The Walking Dead  was still using the search for Sophia to motivate plotlines. And, though it was obviously filmed long before the internet cynicism started to buzz, "Pretty Much Dead Already" felt like the perfect answer to that criticism. In fact, the episode (which served as the midseason finale) felt like the perfect episode of The Walking Dead . It was, without a doubt, the best episode since the show started airing back in October 2010. The reason for that is the perfect blend of character development and zombies. While most of the episode centered upon the characters and their growing tensions, the lurking threat of the zombies in the barn perfectly accented that. When tensions came to a head and Shane asserted himself, he let the zombies loose from the barn, killing them but still ending the fragile peace that Rick had been struggling to create between the Atlanta survivors and Hershel. The fact that Sophia was one of the walkers in the barn was just icing on the cake. Read More... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/tvovermind/tvnews/~3/FnkS4EBrzLU/107985

The Walking Dead Sneak Peek: Rick Pleads with Hershel in Episode 2.07

The Walking Dead  is nearing the end of the first half of its second season, and things between the survivors and Hershel look like they'll be coming to a head in Sunday's episode "Pretty Much Dead Already," the midseason finale. Relations between Hershel and the group have always been strained. Very much an isolationist, Hershel views Rick and his group as unwelcome hazards, especially after they find out about his barn, which houses the zombified versions of his family and friends. Hershel has made it clear to Rick that he wants them gone from his farm soon -- and in this promo for "Pretty Much Dead Already," he establishes a deadline: the end of the week. We can't imagine that this flies well with anyone but Hershel -- after all, Maggie and Glenn are getting pretty close this season, while the rest of the farm's inhabitants seem to be good-willed toward the survivors (even Patricia, who isn't aware that Shane killed her husband, Otis). 'The Walking Dead': Glenn takes down a walker, rescues Maggie, pretty much rocks

For use on external sites w/exclusive video premieres. brightcove.createExperiences(); As Maggie (Lauren Cohan) says in Sunday's (Nov. 20) episode of "The Walking Dead," "Secrets," Glenn (Steven Yeun) has the skills it takes to be a leader. He's the go-to guy for runs into zombie infested territory and he takes on every high risk mission without complaint. So it wasn't much of a surprise when he ended up making another run into undead-infested territory to get something for someone else -- in this case, Lori. When a walker unexpectedly turned up while he and Maggie were on a pharmacy run (so not like their first visit!), well, he picked up a metal shelf and mostly decapitated the zombie before any harm could come to his kind-of new girlfriend. In one of the most talked about scenes from Sunday's show, seen online first here at Zap2it (above), watch as Glenn takes matters into his own hands.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/11/the-walking-dead-glen-takes-down-a-walker-rescues-maggie-pretty-much-rocks.html
