The internet was clamoring for this episode. Ever since the intense cliffhanger last season ended the audience knew that Negan's bat Lucille was going to land somewhere. But man, was that answer brutal. In a show that's given us some of the most morbidly depressing moments on television, this episode made its mark. Or should I say marks, with blood and gore just littered throughout. The beginning of this episode was drawn out, to torture an audience desperate for an answer. Rarely can a show build on it's own horror so effectively. Though this premiere did have thin moments while overdrawing from the dramatic well, it successfully delivered a guttural screech to viewers. This episode is a wonderfully dark reminder that The Walking Dead will never be a nice place where people grow old together. Everyone's doomed, but who cares about that? It's Negan country now.
