FOX: Simon Fuller's Demand of Credit for 'X Factor (US)' Is Without Merit

Simon Fuller Sues Fox Over 'X Factor'

In a move escalating a long-standing rivalry between Simon Cowell and Simon Fuller, two of the most powerful television producers in England — and former partners in the success of "American Idol" — Mr. Fuller filed suit Wednesday in California against the Fox Broadcasting Company over the coming "Idol"-like singing competition show, "The X Factor." The suit was filed in Superior Court in California, according to a statement from Mr. Fuller’s office. Executives at Fox said that they had not received the suit as of midday Wednesday and declined to comment until they did. Mr. Fuller’s suit, which was attached to the statement, charges Fox with reneging on a deal that would have granted him an executive producer credit (and the fees that come with that credit) on "The X Factor," which is set to premiere in Fox this fall. 'The X Factor' sneak peek: 'American Idol' gets roasted

During the 2011 All-Star Game on FOX, Simon Cowell's new reality singing competition "The X Factor" aired its first sneak peek look. The clip shows a young girl named Lillianne entering into an audition room that could've been an "Idol" audition room.Lillianne busts out a terrible version of "Tomorrow" in front of the four judges, Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid. Afterwards, the judges praise her spirit, Paula kisses Simon on the cheek and then he glad-hands a press line, saying, "My attitude this year? Helping others make a better tomorrow."And more singers bust out "Tomorrow" as Simon ... wakes up from this horrible nightmare, then drives a sportscar, picks up the other judges departing a plane and they all strut in slow motion, plus clips of the auditions as the electric guitar of "Live and Let Die" wails. What do you think, "X Factor" fans? Excited? Also - did you like the thinly-veiled... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/07/the-x-factor-sneak-peek-american-idol-gets-roasted.html

'The X Factor' wants Mariah Carey on the show full-time

Mariah Carey's as-yet-unspecified role on the American version of "The X Factor" is perhaps turning into an even bigger (but still unspecified) part.Back in April, "X Factor" creator/judge Simon Cowell said that Carey would be "involved in some form" with the talent competition, which premieres Sept. 21 on FOX. He said at the time that Carey had an idea to "judge the judges," whatever that means.Just what Carey will do on the show is still up in the air, but it sounds like her presence is a little more of a sure thing now. "Mariah and Simon are great friends, and now [that] she has had her babies, it's very possible that she will be involved [in] some way in the later stages of the show," an "X Factor" source tells EW. "She has always said she wanted to work with the show."EW also says that Carey may serve as a mentor to the contestants.... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/07/the-x-factor-wants-mariah-carey-on-the-show-full-time.html

The X Factor judges held auditions in Miami on June 14, and already the quartet of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Antonio "L.A." Reid and Nicole Scherzinger seems to be working like a well-oiled machine. Abdul says Cowell has mellowed a bit on the new show. "He's gotten softer, but don't tell him I said that," she told TV Guide Magazine .
