'The X Factor' finale: Jeff Gutt on his big 'Dream On' moment

Jeff Gutt was focused on himself during his "X Factor" finale performances. The rocker is proud of his fellow finalists, Latin pop singer Carlito Olivero and folky duo Alex and Sierra, but he didn't pay attention to what they did during their last performance show. "I didn't watch anyone else," he tells Zap2it backstage after the show. "There was nothing I can do about anyone else's performance and what they're bringing. There was no point in me sitting there and creating worry and doubt in my mind, so I just kind of stepped aside when the others went before me. I'll go back and watch what they did now. I'm happy for them even though I didn't see what they did, but yeah, tonight I was just focused on me." It's that singular focus that has brought Gutt so far in the competition, and what made him so excited to get on stage and show... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/12/the-x-factor-finale-jeff-gutt-on-his-big-dream-on-moment.html

'The X Factor': Simon Cowell on Demi Lovato's replacement and Season 4 plans

Simon Cowell really thinks "The X Factor" will be back for a fourth season. Although it never became an "American Idol"-level ratings hit, the buzzy, viral performances that dominated the second half of Season 3 have not only translated into iTunes hits, but have also brought a new relevancy to the show. "I believe it will be back," Cowell tells Zap2it after the final performance show of the season."It will have a different look to it. And I think what it has proved -- particularly with what has happened on iTunes -- is that the show has a relevancy, that you can actually produce people who can sell records.  Otherwise it becomes a game show." He's actually known that Demi Lovato wasn't returning for a while, but it's up in the air whether the other two panelists -- Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio -- will come back too. "Demi I knew wasn't coming back because she... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/12/the-x-factor-simon-cowell-on-demi-lovatos-replacement-and-season-4-plans.html

‘X Factor’ Performance Finale: Jeff Gutt Dominates the Finals (Video)

Fox’s “X Factor” went into its season ( some may argue series ) finale on Wednesday with the three finalists singing three songs in order to convince America to hand them Season 3?s championship. The first song of the night was referred to as “the song they hope will get you to vote for them.” Isn’t that every song? Producers, this was a lazy idea for a category, but OK. Then, there was a duet with a professional singer and then the finalists reprised their favorite performances of the season.  Read More... http://www.thewrap.com/fox-x-factor-finale-performances-recap

'X Factor' finale: Alex and Sierra on their almost-proposal

For a split second during the first night of the "X Factor" Season 3 finale, it seemed like Alex Kinsey was about to propose to his fellow group member and girlfriend of several years, Sierra Deaton. It would've been a very "Catching Fire"-esque move, but Alex and Sierra never even considered taking their relationship to the next level -- especially not on national TV. "We're on the same page with that so I knew he wasn't," Sierra tells Zap2it backstage after their finale performance, "but I was just freaking out because I was like 'What are you going to say to me right now?'" Alex just wanted to express his gratitude to his better half. "This journey was because of her. I wouldn't have auditioned without her and I don't think we would've been in this position if we weren't here together," he tells Zap2it. "Mario [Lopez] gave me the opportunity to say something to... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/12/x-factor-finale-alex-and-sierra-on-their-almost-proposal.html
