Regardless of what happens on "The X Factor" finale, Florida duo Alex and Sierra are far and away the breakout stars of Season 3. Their mentor, Simon Cowell, sees a bright future for the lovebirds after the show ends. "I have high hopes for these two outside of the competition. I really do. I think they've done brilliantly," Cowell tells reporters following the semifinals results show. "When they first started with that sort of quirky audition I really liked the two of them at the time, but I was wondering if they were going to really take this seriously. In the last two weeks something just transformed. Alex has always been consistent and then Sierra got her confidence up and it was just one of those amazing things to watch and two weeks ago when they did that final performance I remember thinking, 'this is the moment you are going to remember -- when everything... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/12/the-x-factor-finale-alex-and-sierra-up-against-the-best-of-the-best.html
Pop music needs a Latin star right now, and "The X Factor" finalist Carlito Olivero would like to be that person. "I feel there has been a void in the market for a Latin artist for a long time," he tells reporters after last week's semifinals results. "I remember back in the day turning on the radio and Latin artists were dominating the radio. That kind of faded away, and I'd like to bring back the true R&B and hip-hop and definitely want to put a new Latin face on music and at the same time tour around the world. I feel being here is an amazing opportunity. I'm so in love with life right now and blessed." Olivero hasn't exactly been a shoo-in during Season 3 of the FOX reality competition -- he sang for his life in the Bottom 2 multiple times, and didn't always receive the best feedback from the judges. But... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/12/the-x-factor-carlito-olivero-wants-to-be-the-latin-star-pop-music-needs.html
Jeff Gutt, the last man standing from the Over 25s category on "The X Factor" Season 3, has been performing for about as long as his fellow finalists have been alive. So to be competing for the title in the finale of the FOX reality competition really means a lot to him. "I played my first gig 21 years ago, and it's been a long road with a lot of ups and downs, and I never knew if this moment was going to come," he tells reporters following the semifinals results show. "To stick with it through all this time, even though I never knew this moment would come, now to have it here, means everything to me." Because Gutt is hungry for success, Simon Cowell says he's got the right attitude for a winner. "The best thing I heard from Jeff was when we heard on tape before the sing-off when he said that... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/12/the-x-factor-finale-jeff-gutt-says-kelly-rowland-helped-him-come-out-of-his-shell.html

Get ready for some FOX network synergy: "Glee" star Lea Michele, who is releasing her debut album, "Louder," in March 2014, will perform her first single, "Cannonball," on "The X Factor" finale Thursday (Dec. 19). The singer/actress announced the news on Twitter Sunday (Dec. 15), prompting finalist Sierra Deaton, of the frontrunner duo Alex and Sierra, to tweet an incredulous "WWWWHHHHAAAAATTTTTTT?!?!? The winner will be decided from the three remaining acts: folky duo Alex and Sierra, rocker Jeff Gutt, and Latin pop star Carlito Olivero.
