Whilst out on patrol, Kuroko and Kazari come across a couple of petty thieves stealing from a car in broad daylight. Kuroko charges in despite Kazari's warning and ends up getting ambushed while Uiharu gets tasered as the thieves get away. Kazari gets into a fight with Kuroko for not listening to her and for forgetting a promise they made. Kuroko later tells Mikoto about how she and Kazari first met when they were younger in Judgment. When they and her senpai, Mii Konori, got involved in a bank robbery, Kuroko's rash actions lead to Kazari being taken hostage by the bank robber who was an esper and Mii getting injured. Realizing her mistakes, Kuroko managed to teleport Kazari outside to safety while she faced the last bank robber alone. In the end she was able to stop him thanks to Mikoto, who anonymously answered Kazari's pleas for help. In the process of telling the story, Kuroko remembers and realizes the promise she made with Kazari; to be true to themselves and become full-fledged members of Judgment together, and goes to apologize to Kazari.
