Rutledge Wood has announced that the show has been canceled "for the immediate future". It's possible that it will be resurrected at some point.

To be quite honest, this show should've never been made.

I looked forward all Winter for the next season of "Top Gear," wondering if Adam would finally wreck something brand new. So the ride with "Tiny Dancer" and "The Bearded Lady" has ended, just before they get to Cuba. It's been a (somewhat) interesting ride, even though there are more interesting automobiles on "American Pickers" or "Car Hunt," which will have to do until Richard Rawlings and his "Gas Monkey Garage" roars back to TV.

HOw could Top Gear USA, miss out on Matt Le Blanc as a presenter. So far he has been the best person on the British show.
Perhaps TG Usa, wouldnt have been cancelled if Matt presented it.

But I am sure Matt Le blanc feels sorry for his American counterparts. Perhaps he is singing.....

So no one told you life was gonna be this way
Your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's D.O.A.
It's like you're always stuck in second gear
When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year

For all the people who said "it shouldn't be made" or "it's terrible" go see season 1 of TG UK. It was monumentally worse than TG US. TG US also started to get much better than the fairly decent 1st season. I will say Adam fits elsewhere, but not in TG.

Plus, TG UK (clarkson bunch) jumped the shark and got very very tired and dare I say almost bad a couple seasons back.

TG US will be missed.

@ Alcon that was because Chris Evans ruined it. The 'New' British Top gear is presented by people who know nothing about cars, Chris Evans is a Radio host and presenter, Matt Le Blanc is an actor (who hasnt done a bad job presenting), and several additional part time presenters.

Chris Evans thought he was someone who could wow the car world. Just because he owns several expensive cars, it doesnt make him the right person for the job. The British however do have some great car presenters, but sadly they were not hired for this.

No matter what presenters were used, it was never going to be easy replacing three well liked Presenters. I am sure it is the same for any new show, especially Doctor Who. Whenever a new person replaces the previous cast member, people will pick and judge. It takes time to warm to a new person.

Top Gear Uk on a whole has been a good programme, that has been running for 20- years. Therefore you cannot compare a change of presenters, to a totally newish show.

However, I will say, the format of TGUK has tried to make it more like the old TGUK rather than a newer fresher version they could have made their own. TGUK was re-created around 2001, with new presenters and it became a hit. I have seen other International TG series try to copy TGUK and it doesnt work.

The stig for example was great in the Uk, but now it's become old and boring. Sadly though, other international TG's still try to use their own version of a stig. It's like putting Tony Blair in America, and him attempting to be president

@Snootz - I wasn't referring to new-new top gear. I meant old-new top gear. Remember, this is technically the 3rd (well maybe 4th, if you count Chris Evans top gear as gen3) generation of topgear.

1st gen top gear was god awful. even early seasons of topgear gen 2 were boring, dull, and weird. It wasn't until season 7-9 that things reached peak. By 16 they jumped the shark, way over scripted everything, and became parodies of themselves.

TGUS, you are correct, was a different show entirely. Rather, they should have kept it going in magazine format like they did in the latter episodes. No interviews. (in fact, News should come back to TGUK, but interviews should really go away - but they won't, since it is cheap, and free publicity).
