True Blood Reviews & Ratings

60 minutes

An adaptation of Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire novels focusing on the human and vampire residents in a small Louisiana town, though in multiple seasons their world has expanded to include shape-shifters, werewolves, fairies, telepaths, witches and other supernatural beings, whose stories, in some cases, have been thousands of years in the making.

Don't fall in love with a Vampire. Words to live by. But you can fall in love with a show about Vampires. This is the one!

I loved this show because it was a different kind of vampire show and had an interesting take on vampirism in general. I also liked the idea that they showed how "normal" (god I hate that word) people react to vampires and tackled topics like racism and homophobia. The most significant characters to me were the always sassy Lafayette and the vampire newbie Jessica.
And of course it wouldn't have been the same without handsome Eric and bitchy Pam! I wasn't a big fan of the main characters Sookie and Bill but loved it for everything else.

Loved this show and think they should bring it back and start it where the end clip left off.

First off - This is not just another vampire-human love story. There are lot of other supernatural beings in the show, and the show is much more "adult" (that's the only word I can use to describe it, e.g lots of fucked up shit, swearing and sex) compared to every other supernatural show I have watched (and I've watched a lot). That is what makes this show still very unique to this day. As well of that, it's the only show I know of set in a world where humans actually know about vampires, and seeing the politics behind this (e.g should vampires have rights etc) is also very unique and interesting. Definitely would recommend. Only given 4 stars instead of 5 due to certain seasons lacking in good storylines.

Starts out mediocre then gets exceedingly shittier as the series goes on. In the end I couldn't figure out why I bothered watching any of it. Though I did have it on as background noise while I did other things so technically I didn't torture myself too much.

The main characters -Sookie and Bill - are terrible. The over the top Hollywood shrieking is tiresome before the pilot is over and their "romance" is sad and cliche.

Also, don't listen to all the claims of how "unique" or "original" this show is. It really rips off a lot of other series, most noticeably Buffy.

Eric Northman ripping a heart straight out of a woman's chest and drinking blood out of it through the aorta.

if you never saw that scene your life is pointless.
there's nothing more to say about this show.

Ended stupid, ridiculous, over twisted and plain old chumpy :( Loved to see it start and was glad as all heck this sad dog was PUT DOWN! sad too the characters all still had so many potential and seasons left in them...
