TV ratings: 'Hannibal' Season 2 premieres lower in Friday night time slot

Fast national ratings for Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 It shouldn't really come as a surprise that NBC's "Hannibal" premiered to lower ratings than its Season 1 bow on its Friday night debut -- that's just what happens when shows move to Friday night -- but there's good news for the serial killer drama: While the Season 2 premiere was down from its first Season 1 outing, it still managed to beat the last five episodes of Season 1 and perform better than its fall counterpart, "Dracula." CBS won the night in overall viewers with an average of 9.9 million people tuning in for the first Olympics-less Friday in a month and a 6.2 rating/11 household share. A new episode of "Blue Bloods" managed to draw the most viewers of the night -- 11.8 million -- with "Hawaii Five-0's" 10.4 million viewers coming in close behind. ABC came in second with an average 6.9 million viewers... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/03/tv-ratings-hannibal-season-2-premieres-lower-in-friday-night-time-slot.html

TV Ratings: Olympics dominate repeats and Valentine's Day programs

Fast National ratings for Friday, Feb. 14, 2014It's no surprise that the 2014 Winter Olympics dominated television on Friday, Feb. 14. With almost all other networks showing repeats or Charlie Brown specials, there wasn't much chance of toppling the Winter Games. Even new episodes of "Enlisted" and "Raising Hope" on FOX didn't stand much of chance. The Olympics dipped somewhat in viewers between Thursday and Friday, even with the highly anticipated men's figure-skating finals. An average of 19.1 million viewers tuned in to the NBC primetime broadcast.Still, that number dwarfed the nearest competition, a repeat of "Hawaii Five-0" on CBS at 9 p.m. Dismal numbers for new programming were represented by "Enlisted" (1.8 million viewers), "Raising Hope" (1.5 million) and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.86 million).Overall, NBC's 19.1 million viewers led to a 11.0 rating/19 share in households. CBS followed with 5.4 million viewers (3.5/6). ABC (4.3 million, 2.8/5), FOX (2.4 million, 1.5/3) and... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/tv-ratings-olympics-dominate-repeats-and-valentines-day-programs.html

TV ratings: 'Enlisted' up in time period swap; CBS wins viewers, ABC wins demo

Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 31, 2014The season finale of "The Carrie Diaries" was on par with last week's new episode, while "Raising Hope" and "Enlisted" switching time periods saw an up-tick of nearly 20 percent for the Army comedy and steady ratings for "Hope."The CBS dramas were new, which means the Eye won the night in total viewers by a wide margin, though ABC's lineup earned the alphabet network the win in the demo.CBS' win saw an average of 11 million viewers and a 6.9 rating/12 share in households, followed by ABC (6.1 million, 3.8/6), NBC (5.1 million, 3.5/6), FOX (4.6 million, 2.8/5) and The CW (843,000, 0.5/1).In the adults 18-49 demographic, ABC was tops with a 1.7 rating, followed by CBS (1.6), FOX (1.2), NBC (1.1) and The CW (0.3).Friday hour by hour:8 p.m.CBS: "Undercover Boss" (9.2 million viewers, 5.7/10 households)FOX:"Bones" (6.8 million, 4.2/7)ABC: "Last Man Standing" (6.9 million, 4.3/8)/"The Neighbors" (4.3... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/02/tv-ratings-enlisted-up-in-time-period-swap-cbs-wins-viewers-abc-wins-demo.html

TV ratings: ABC scores demo wins while CBS takes Friday

Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 17, 2014It was another solid Friday night for the usual suspects on ABC and CBS, with the triple whammy of "Undercover Boss," "Hawaii Five-0" and "Blue Bloods" snagging the night's most viewers, while ABC pulled wins in the 18-49 demographic with "Shark Tank" and "20/20." Unfortunately, the low debut for FOX's new comedy "Enlisted" wasn't a fluke, with 0.4 million viewers dropping out from premiere week -- which wouldn't actually that big of a drop if the number weren't so low in the first place. CBS won the night overall with an average 10.6 million viewers and a 6.6 rating/11 household share. ABC trailed behind with 6.3 million (4.2/7), while NBC nabbed 5.2 million (3.3/6), FOX got 4.5 million (2.7/5) and The CW trailed with 801,000 viewers and a 0.5/1.In the 18-49 demo, however, ABC pulled ahead with an average of 1.7 for the night, with CBS earning... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/tv-ratings-abc-scores-demo-wins-while-cbs-takes-friday.html

TV Ratings: 'Grimm,' 'Dracula' down on a night of football, reruns

Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 3, 2014Despite the competition being reruns and football specials, "Grimm" and "Dracula" both returned down with new episodes on NBC. New episodes of both shows -- the only regularly scheduled, non-repeats of the night -- failed to win their timeslots. FOX's college football special did that for both hours."Grimm" was down almost a million viewers from its most recent new episode in December -- 6.4 million viewers dropped to only 5.6 million -- while "Dracula" suffered a similar drop from 3.8 million viewers to 2.9 million.Reruns ABC, CBS and The CW gave the night's win to FOX, which aired a college football special from 8 to 10 p.m.FOX managed to get 7.2 million viewers and a 4.2 rating/7 share in households for the night. That network was followed by CBS (6.5 million, 4.1/7), NBC (5.5 million, 3.6/6) and ABC (5.4 million, 3.6/6). Repeat episodes on The CW averaged only... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/tv-ratings-grimm-dracula-down-on-a-night-of-football-reruns.html

TV ratings: 'Nikita' series finale is flat, CBS wins with reruns

Fast National ratings for Friday, Dec. 27, 2013"Nikita's" series finale might have been perfect, but it didn't draw any more than its season average of viewers. The CW drama didn't even get a Season 4 high from the show's final episode, "Canceled," which drew 813,000 viewers and a 0.6 rating/1 share in households. That was down from its second and third episodes in Season 4, though it was up from the season premiere and was a significant boost from the previous two episodes.Meanwhile, CBS continued its streak of running reruns -- this time "Undercover Boss" and "Garth Brooks Vegas" -- and won the night with both programs. "20/20" was down from last week for ABC, but was still the most-watched program of the night. NBC's special "What We Wasted Our Year On" hit soft with 4.4 million viewers and a 2.9 rating/5 share in households. CBS's average for the night was 5.2 million viewers and... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/12/tv-ratings-nikita-series-finale-is-flat-cbs-wins-with-reruns.html
