USA NETWORK AND FORD LAUNCH INTERACTIVE GAME TO SUPPORT HIT SERIES WHITE COLLAR Ford Taurus Limited Stars as Ultimate Crime-Solving Vehicle for FBI Trainee Players -- in WHITE COLLAR: CHASING THE SHADOW USA Network announced WHITE COLLAR: CHASING THE SHADOW , an interactive game that allows fans to take their love of the critically acclaimed USA drama, White Collar , to new levels of online interaction. WHITE COLLAR, which follows a con artist and FBI agent who team to catch the bad guys, now gains an online story extension through CHASING THE SHADOW, which was developed in conjunction with show creator Jeff Eastin. The game gives fans the chance to be a part of the crime-solving team through seven levels of cat and mouse situations, clue deciphering and tests of detective skills. Armed with various crime solving tools, including the 2010 Ford Taurus Limited (with actual car features utilized in the game) players are in hot-pursuit of notorious villain, The White Shadow and the ultimate chance to win a Ford Taurus Limited. The announcement was made by Jesse Redniss, USA's vice president of digital. "USA is constantly developing new online components to support original on-air programming, allowing our fans to continue to interact with their favorite characters in an active, engaging way," said Redniss. "Working with Ford on WHITE COLLAR: CHASING THE SHADOW has allowed us to tap into a brand whose message resonates with the characters and ultimately the viewership, while incorporating innovative features from the Ford Taurus to become part of the players' experience." CHASING THE SHADOW comprises a series of challenges that expand in skill, mental dexterity and ability to analyze clues week-over-week, making it critical for players to pay attention to recaps throughout to successfully capture The White Shadow. The game ultimately makes players responsible for assisting Neal Caffrey (Matthew Bomer) and Peter Burke (Tim DeKay), the two main characters of WHITE COLLAR, in solving a case that has gone on for many years and perplexed even the most seasoned FBI agents. The on-air uses of actual Ford Taurus features come to life through the gaming experience, becoming an integral part of the players ability to solve each caper, from using in-vehicle voice-activated communications system Ford SYNC to access SMS messages to the Multi-Contour massaging seat feature allowing players to realize something is amiss, the game immerses players in the world of virtual crime-solving. "With the launch of the new Taurus, we were looking for marketing opportunities that could help us showcase Taurus's innovative features and engage new consumers to drive one," said Jeff Egen, Ford car experiential marketing manager. "Teaming up with USA and their hit program, WHITE COLLAR provided both the creative product integration and deeper online consumer experience that we wanted." * White Collar (10/9c USA Network ) The USA drama is back on a new night after its mid-season break, and there are still plenty of questions for fans to ponder after Peter had a shocking reunion with Kate. But while questions about who's really good or bad loom, this episode focuses on a group of corrupt Wall Street brokers that Peter and Neal try to take down. The case isn't a run-of-the-mill one for Neal, though, because his deal with the FBI is riding on a successful conclusion to the investigation. * American Idol (8/7c Fox) It was wicked good in Boston and peachy in Georgia in last week's season-opening shows, both of which encapsulated what these preliminary auditions are all about - cringe-worthy train-wreck auditions and those elevated moments when we all discover a genuine talent together. Later, the teachers must pass on what they've learned to their partners, who aren't allowed to work out with the trainers. This twist in the game could have a big effect on the weigh-in, which becomes even more dramatic after some contestants make accusations about game play. * Millionaire Matchmaker (10/9c Bravo ) Here's a matchmaker, matchmaker who can make them a match, find them a find, catch them a catch. Patti Stanger doesn't fiddle around when the matchmaking reality show opens its third season. Her first two clients of the season are Omar and Nick, two big-bucks founders of a trash-removal company. But there might be some trash talkin' with these hunks of junk: One of them doubts Patti's matchmaking abilities, while the other believes most women are only attracted to his wealth. * Paranormal Cops (10:30/9:30c A&E ) In the past few years, A&E has been finding success with reality programming following law-enforcement officials and shows exploring the paranormal. Now they've found a way to combine the two. A new reality series follows a group of Chicago cops who moonlight as paranormal investigators, applying their honed skills in crime investigation to otherworldly mysteries. After going into hiatus for more than a month, USA crime dramedy White Collar returns tonight with "Hard Sell." On tonight's episode, Neal (Matt Bomer) infiltrates a corrupt Wall Street brokerage firm, and Peter (Tim DeKay) is forced to go undercover alongside Neal. Cable television's top-rated network, USA, is shaking things up a bit. Starting this week, USA will no longer air any of its original dramas on Friday nights but will start putting new shows at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesday and Wednesday, nights that had previously been reserved for reruns of network shows like "NCIS." The season premiere of "White Collar" on Tuesday starts the new schedule. "Psych" will start on Wednesdays on Jan. 27. USA will be trading away a signature Friday night where shows like "Monk" thrived for several years, in favor of two nights when more people generally are watching television. "We decided it was time to take some risks," said Bonnie Hammer, the network's chief executive. "Being complacent was never going to teach us anything." Hammer said she has a 16-year-old son who has asked her mom why "White Collar" was on Friday nights, saying his friends would otherwise watch the show. Instead, they're out. Or, like many adults, they're catching up on what was recorded that week on DVR. USA also programs original shows on Sundays, where "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "In Plain Sight" are most likely to land. The popular WWE professional wrestling airs on Mondays, and the original show "Burn Notice" will stay on Thursdays, with new episodes beginning this week.

After leaving us with quite a twist, I'm sure many of you (including me) are looking forward to White Collar's return this January. I personally hope that there is a reasonable explanation for Burke's actions, otherwise it's just going to kill the whole dynamic between him and Caffrey, which is why I think most people love the show. From THR: USA Network made a clean sweep of the 2009 ratings race, marking the fourth consecutive win for the NBC Universal powerhouse. Per Nielsen ratings data (a blend of live-plus-seven-day and two weeks of live-plus-same-day numbers), USA drew a record 3.27 million viewers in primetime, a 14% improvement over its year-ago delivery. For the period spanning Dec. 29, 2008, through Dec. 27, 2009, USA swept ad-supported cable's three top TV demos, averaging 1.49 million adults 25-54, an increase of 11% versus 2008, while serving up 1.32 million viewers 18-49 (up 5%). The network also held off TBS to take the younger set, drawing 616,000 viewers 18-34. USA effectively shattered the records it set in 2008, when it averaged 2.86 million total viewers, 1.34 million adults 25-54 and 1.32 million viewers 18-49. (When factoring in all basic-cable nets, this year marks USA's second straight win among total viewers. In 2007, non-ad-supported Disney Channel topped the total cable universe with 2.7 million total viewers, edging USA's 2.68 million in the same period.) On the year, USA boasted cable's two most-watched new series in Royal Pains (7.47 million viewers per week) and White Collar (5.68 million). Both programs also ran away with their target demos, as "Pains" served up 3.56 million adults 25-54 and 3.15 million viewers 18-49, while "Collar" averaged 2.29 million 25-54s and 2.04 million 18-49s. USA also accounted for half of cable's top 10 returning series. With an average delivery of 7.19 million viewers, Burn Notice closed out the year second only to TNT's The Closer . That said, the wry spy drama topped the demos, averaging 3.61 million adults 25-54 and 3.27 million viewers 18-49. Other big earners for USA were: Monk , which ended its eight-season run on Dec. 4 in front of a crowd of 9.44 million viewers; Psych , which averaged 5.21 million viewers in the first half of its third season; and "In Plain Sight," which scared up 5 million viewers in its sophomore effort.
