Considered by many to be the dominant brand in World Wrestling Entertainment, WWE RAW features some of the biggest and baddest Superstars. With wrestlers like Batista, John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and with Divas like Mickie James, Beth Phoenix and Melina, RAW is the "red"-hot brand for the WWE.

The longest running television show in the world. Over 1000 episodes since 1991. Watched it through the attitude era. Completely defines WWE's tagline of then now and forever. :)

For a TV show that pioneered the anti-hero and serialized content in the 90s, way before HBO did the same with the Sopranos, and gets little credit for doing so, the current state of affairs is just sad. I'm a fan and watch most weeks with the hope that the show will achieve its potential. Very rarely it does. Most of the time however it spurns the ingredients that saw the show rise to such prominence, pleading that it has to be TV-PG to keep its sponsors (on a TV-14 cable network, no less). Another popular excuse is that the show is aimed at children; that may be show but no-one said that a show aimed at children has to be dumbed down. The most successful children's shows are those that embrace the parents and adults watching too, and cleverly work in things that children may understand on one level but adults on another (The Simpsons, Batman the Animated Series, Spongebob), yet WWE Raw ignores this and thinks that to appeal to children, you must spurn the greater audience and not have any intelligence in the writing (acknowledging prior storylines for instance).

One lives in hope that someday I'll be able to amend my rating, but until that day comes...
