Married mum-of-two Debbie Maddox doesn't know what she's going to do with herself now that the twins have started school. Husband Peter is busy at work, and with no kids to chase after, all that's left is cleaning, the odd embarrassing Zumba class and terrible daytime TV. What Debbie needs is a distraction and, handily, one arrives in the form of an elf hiding in her kitchen cupboard... The boredom has beaten her. She's cracked. It's the only explanation. That doesn't stop Debbie from stepping into a portal and accompanying Elf to Yonderland, though. Debbie is a long way from home and, after exchanging niceties with Nick the Stick (the name says it all), she's off to meet the all-seeing, all-knowing Elders. This day has been a long time coming for the colourful locals it would seem when Debbie is revealed to be The Chosen One, a cherry-picked saviour destined to rescue the magical realm from the fast-approaching forces of darkness. The only problem is, an ancient scroll stipulating how exactly she's supposed to do this has gone missing.
