Discuss: How Awesome was Tonight's Chuck? - Featured

Spoilers for Chuck vs. the Colonel

Tonight's episode of Chuck - Chuck vs the Colonel - was easily one of my favorite episodes of any TV series that I have seen this season. It was so good in fact, that I find myself wondering how next week's season finale can possibly top it (which, mind you, creator Josh Schwartz has referred to as "game changing" on multiple occasions).

But seriously...how awesome was tonight's episode of Chuck?

Things that were awesome (in no particular order):

1. "I am offering you assistant manager. Will you be my ass man?" - Emmett to Morgan

2. Chuck pauses sex with Sarah to go get some...protection...only to to find a condom IOU from Morgan in his wallet.

3. Casey vs. the radiator

4. Awesome finds out Chuck's secret. Chuck asks him to be...Awesome...about it.

5. Jeff gets high on Casey's chloroform supply.

6. Casey ends up helping Chuck and Sarah rescue his father (Chuck: "Casey? Would you like to help us rescue my father?"); after all...he gave his word.

7. Morgan quits the Buy More to become a Benihana chef in Hawaii. He exits...shirtless. Slow. Clap.

8. Big Mike spoofs Godfather.

9. Airstrike! Explosions! (But don't count Roark out just yet...)

10. The Intersect is exported from Chuck's head!!!

So...what was your favorite part of tonight's Chuck? What are your predictions for next week's season finale? How big of a depression will you sink into if Chuck is not renewed for a 3rd season?

Agreed this episode was fantastic, just sooo good. I don't know how anyone could even think about canceling anything so entertaining.
I think that for some reason chuck decides he has to get the intersect back in his head. Like Ellie getting kidnapped by Roark? This episode could have been good as a finale for the season it was that good and packed with so much change. Just can't wait for next weeks episode.
Also Really glad to see Chuck and Sarah actually act on their feelings for once. The IOU was hilarious.

Perhaps sacrifice will be in the cards for Chuck in the finale -- of course, this is mere speculation from the already exciting and entertaining promo!

Romance, action, humour: all that i need in a TV show! This episode was just great! I loved the part in which chuck tells awesome that he's a spie! Awesome's reaction when Ellie arrives home is just hilarious! Haha just thinking about his face at that moment makes me laugh!! I also loved the way morgan left the buy more. For once, he didn't need chuck to take the decision for him.
I'm really scared though because this episode looked a bit like the beginning of the end of a TV show. I mean now that Chuck doesn't have the intersect in his head anymore, how can we expect another season?

Oh yeah, and i actually found it discusting how they kissed, after a very good night of sleep! Most people would actually stink at that particular moment: morning breath!

One word....AWESOME!!! This episode is the best, by far, for both seasons. It was fun, a lot issues were resolved (at least for now) and best of all, Chuck got the intersect out of his head!!...although I shudder to think it, it kind of seemed to me like a setup for s series, not season, finale next week.... I HOPE NOT!!! As darynx said, who can "even think about canceling anything so entertaining" when there is sooooo much crap nowadays on TV ("in the motherhood", "better off ted", "parks and recreation", for starters..)
This is just light, fun tv when it is most needed, monday nights...
PLEASE KEEP CHUCK!!!!! He's AWESOME!!!

I get the feeling that the cancelation buzz is a promotion tactic. Interestingly during Chuck last night, here in Canada, there was a Chuck-Flavoured commercial featuring Zachary Levi for the new Honda Insight. When I consider this new ad, as well as last week Subway promo, it just seems like too many resources being spent on a series that isn't being renewed and has only a single episode.
NBC would be nuts if they announced Chuck renewal prior to the finale on 27 April.1) it would undermine the Subway "Foot Long and Finale"2) it would negatively impact on the finale's rating if fans considered it "safe"3) announcing Chuck's renewal after the finale and stating some of the fan-based initiatives amoung the long list of reasons behind their decision would reinforce the dedication of a strong fan base.
Just my two cents. Chuck night is Subway night in our house!

I never watch Chuck on TV because House is on at the same time but I decided to watch it last night because of it being in danger and all and I was definitely happy I did. I will be super sad if it doesn't get renewed, it has become one of my favorite shows and one that I'm most excited to watch on Tuesday mornings.

AWESOME
thats the only word that can describe this episode. It was so good in so many ways, humour, romance, action, drama, cliff hanger ending. It was as close to perfect as an episode, not just chuck but any tv show, could be. This show needs to kept on because it is soooooo amazing.
Best part of the episode was when morgan rips off his shirt and the big speech he gives then chuck comes in and hasnt a clue whats going on ------ loved it!!!

That was a stonking episode, it was fantastic, so many momentous moments, Chuck and Sarah actually letting go. Personally i would say go for it son when you can, if its kissing in the morning with Sarah then so be it. I actually liked the bit where Casey says about the mistakes the third being they never asked him. Classic i knew he was not a bad guy, he was part of the team and had his partners back.I actually think as someone else mentioned the finale will have Chuck being forced to choose to have the intersect back in his head. I just think he will be put into a situation where its that or someone close to him gets killed. Possibly even someone dying and only the intersect can save them with the info in his head, now that he knows he can make it flash and access the info. Might even be one of those crazy endings, his sister in danger, Casey hurt, Sarah kidnapped and only the intersect can help, but this time taking out the new intersect 2.0 is not so easy.Whatever way it goes i am just enjoying it very much, and the finale even if its just as good as this episode will be amazing, if not awesome.

Best episode of the best show in the fall tv season in my mind.
I was cracking up at the ass-man gag and I cheered at the tv when Chuck and Sarah started getting frisky. Morgan really screwed this up but the quitting scene was so great that it redeemed him 10x over. I loved the whole "Make me have a better figure" line too.
I felt like I was watching a series finale really. Everything was wrapped up really nicely then we saw Roark coming for his revenge and we know things are going down. Chuck is probably gonna willingly get the intersect back in his head I think.

u cant disagree tht chuck and sarah finally - and i mean finally - give in to their feelings and sarah actually admits tht she loves him was the one of THE best parts of this episode exept for the morning breath thing...i dont know how they got past tht!...i bet tht chuck is gonna have a hard time beating roark without the intersect in his head...cant w8 till the next episode!!this show has got to stay on no matter what the cause...this wasn't even the last episode of the season and soo much happened: romance -->chuck and sarah kissing in the morning and chuck trying to get a condomn but instead gets a note from morgan sayin he used it...humor-->morgan being the "ass man"...action -->casey being the bad guy but then helps his thick head to go back to his team and tells them tht the third mistake the did was not ask him...suspense-->awesome finding out tht chuck is a CIA spy and staying cool bout it...or in his words: "staying awesome bout it"...surprise-->CHUCK GETS THE FRIGGIN INTERSECT OUT OF HIS HEAD...humor(again)-->wen ellie arrives home and awesome gets nervouse of wat 2 say and she thinks he's getting wedding crisis in his head...and soo much more...cancelling this show wod probably throw them off from chuck fans!!awesome show!!

First off.... Morning breath not a big deal when the woman of your dreams is laying beside you... Add to that wanting her for two years... Yeah I wouldnt care one itty bitty bit.
The plot lines have come together nicely... Guy got the girl. Sarah and Awesome will be married and live happily ever after. Dad is safe and part of the family again. G'vt is out of their lives. I do think that the entire point of the episode is to set a perfect stage for a reversal and dissapointment, however. Things don't ever get to be 100% happily ever after in the chuck universe. There will still be goverment involvement. Dad will have to run again. Sarah and chuck will pull a Ross and Rachel because she is once again his handler.
In the end the episode reminds me of a flash forward episode. Lets see how it all ends, but not yet. Happily ever after shouldnt come until season 5 and the gags are washed up and the will they wont they finally drives me to drink.

Woops, I posted an empty comment... What I wanted to say was that although I like Chuck I'm thinking that maybe it'll be for the best if it ends now. It is still good, and the story is pretty much told already. A show with good ratings gets to go on and on forever, until it's so bad no one knows why they're watching it anymore. Sometimes things just need to end. With some character development (like if someone teaches Chuck a little self defence) and change in the main plot (like Chuck and Sarah actually being together and stop whining about not being so) Chuck could be fine for at least another season, but that probably won't happen. They've just done one of those everything's-gonna-be-good-from-now-on-episodes, but continuing that way wouldn't be "good television", so if they intended to do a third season when the episode where made, the next one will most likely be a no-it-certainly-will-not-episode where Chuck gets the intersect back, and that's just sad. If they pull it of and the show is still good after that, I'm gonna be extatic, just because of the skill that would take. Even if Chuck is the only show I watch that I still really like, I'm not against putting an end to it, 'cause I can (sadly, very sadly) only see it going down hill from here.

To be fair i think the cast in this show can carry off a third season, and i am sure the writers can make it if not as good but better then season 2.

They've really stepped up in the last few episodes. Not that the rest of the season hasn't been really good, just these last few have been Epic. If it doesn't get renewed somone should be fired. Am about to watch the finale.
