Week Four College Football Action

The college football season has started off with a bang! While Florida State faced some trouble with Clemson last week, they were able to pull the game out in overtime and defeated the pesky Tigers 23-17. Despite the close game (and while 2013 Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston sat out suspended), the Seminoles maintained their #1 ranking in the AP poll.

The Oregon Ducks also stay undefeated after knocking off the Cougars from Washington State by a score of 38-31. WSU gave the Ducks all they could handle and managed to sack Heisman candidate Marcus Mariota seven times during the game.

The big upset of the week was Indiana defeating Missouri by a score of 31-27. The game was touch and go throughout, and was pulled out in the closing seconds when D’Angelo Roberts scored on a three-yard touchdown run.

In other action last weekend, Auburn beat Kansas State 20-14, Oklahoma took care of West Virginia 45-33, Alabama rolled over Florida 42-21, Mississippi State went into Death Valley and beat the LSU Tigers 34-29, and South Carolina beat-up on Vanderbilt.

This week we have some really exciting games to look forward to, including UCLA and Arizona State going head-to-head in a big Pac-12 matchup. Although Arizona State will be without star quarterback, Taylor Kelly, the Sun Devils are always a tough team –  especially with their dynamic, high-powered offense. Other key games include Tennessee at Georgia, and Missouri at South Carolina; meanwhile, Oregon State will travel to LA to take on the Trojans of USC while Illinois faces Nebraska.
