Nooo. Spin-offs never survive, and it's far too late in Supernatural's run to break off like this. Do a mini series straight to streaming instead. A full show will die quickly, and it will be upsetting to see such great characters not get their due.

I've been hoping for a Jody spinoff for years! I hope this one actually happens and is actually good.

@dinaofdoom.. you serious? i can list MANY spinoffs that have survived. I have to be honest here, they will probably only do one or two seasons of this spinoff it it goes ahead.. I mean, they have to bring the hunters back somehow, considering most of them got wiped out by scary mary's crap story arc.. this is a perfect platform to do that and bring the hunters back stronger.

@sylar I can't think of any spin-offs that had the same longevity & success as the original, aside from the Law and Order franchise. I still think a limited series is a good idea, as the current 22/23+ episode format Supernatural has requires a huge amount of ratings for networks to consider it a "success" because of how much money it takes to run a season that long and keep it coming back. A 10-or-less episode format is becoming more popular these days, and I think that would really work here, and make it more likely to get multiple seasons.

@dinaofdoom .. let me list you some.. The Simpsons, Fraiser, Star Trek: Next Generation, happy days, mork & Mindy, NCIS, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Xena: The Warrior Princess, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, CSI, Star Trek: Voyager, 90210, ... I COULD carry on but I wont bore you.. lol. I think if they limit this spin-off to maybe 2 series to bring all the hunters back into Supernatural then it COULD be a good thing and then combine the two shows, bigger cast, bigger stories.. etc.
