I was a big fan of the 1995 movie and even watched the original La Jette from 1964, which is far more weird and pychological. So when they made a series of it, I was all in.

The first season is great, kind of a remake of the movie but also different, maybe kind of like how the Sarah Connor Chronicles are similar to the Terminator movies but different (and far supirior). The woman who plays Dr. Cassandra Railly crushes me with her beauty every time she is on screen.

The second series got a little bumpy, and I felt that they switched writers at some point and I really didn't like the change to a more melodramatic writing style. I stopped watching, but eventually went back and watched the rest of season 2 even though I wasn't that into it.

I watched the first episode of season 3 and was again faced with the overly melodratic style, like a spanish novella had lots of bambinos with a hard sci-fi show. I dropped it like a rock. {cut to the character looking dramatically into the distance... having no doubt deep thoughts about the future of humanity}

So, season 4 rolls around, I'm brave, I checked it out yesterday, 3 episodes released at once, nice. And guess what?... its back to being like it was in the first season, much less pointless melodrama and much more action. I'm digging it again and already watched the first three episodes. Its good.

All in all though I can't give it more than 3 stars since there was so much crap in season 2, and although season 3 might have gotten better, I will never know... Staying away from that season like the plague!

soooo i just came across this show a couple days ago and fell in love with it. i binged watched the first 2 season. and now i have a ton of ????? its like i understand and am lost at the same time

like how is cassie still pregnant if cole went back and killed the messanger?

so its like they said screw the plague. is it not a priority any more?

whats with the cycles everyone keeps talking about??

how many times has the same thing happened over and over again. ex (cole speaking to Jennifer he says i never said that to you, she says you haven't but you will wft????) like how many times have they had that conversation.

if the witness is their kid why is it trying to destroy the world or is it really even trying to destroy the world or is it something else? and if Cassie is the mom why let her die so many times

and whats with they way they never change things really they keep traveling through time just to end up where they don't want to be with the world still ending. none of the characters believes in fate but every-time they try to change something it takes them one step closer to the end, her giving birth to the witness ie. the end of the world. if that's not the definition of being fated i don't know what is

i need answers!!!!

Before watching this series I watched the movie. But soon I realised that it was not necessary. But you are more familiar with names of characters etc.

I think it is solid show. Not great. All the stories in different timelines it gets a bit confusing. But overall I liked it and it is not a waste of your time. I think it deserves a 2nd season but after that I don't know who long they can go on with this story.

After watching the 2nd season I must admit that this show grew on me. And became a show I really like and can not wait for the 3rd season to begin!

I have never watched the movie. The previews while I was watching another show peaked my interest and I will say that they did not disappoint. This show is smart and well written.
