Soma Saito Boards ‘Ace of the Diamond’ Anime

As Ace of the Diamond has begun its second series run, some new casting information has arrived for the show. Since there’s plenty of new characters and teams to face off against, new additions can happen somewhat regularly. Crunchyroll Adds Second ‘Ace of the Diamond’ Season For Spring 2015 Anime Lineup

The first series for Ace of the Diamond came to a close this past weekend after seventy-five glorious episodes of high school baseball material, which our own Kory Cerjak reviewed for the past year and a half, and now the new season is getting ready to start up. The second season is getting a bit of a move in Japan to something that will garner it more attention with audiences there, which means simulcast episodes will now start appearing on Monday, April 6th, at 6:30am ET for premium members and a week later for free members. ‘Ace of Diamond’ Anime Getting Sequel Series This Spring

With 45 volumes released so far in Japan as of January and the anime series coming to a close this month with 75 episodes, Ace of Diamond is definitely one of those well received sports series that definitely plays it largely serious, but with some good humor along the way. The show has already gone far longer than anyone expected it would and the announcement last year that it would run through the winter 2015 season certainly surprised a lot of fans. READ MORE...

‘Ace Of The Diamond’ Manga Ends First Series

While manga doesn’t restart series quiet as often as American comics do, that is something that has come up a bit more in the last few years. The latest one to end its current run is Ace of the Diamond, which brings to a close the first part of the storyline that creator Yuji Terajima is telling with the release of the latest chapter in Weekly Shonen Magazine this week. It’s done well so far since it began back in 2006 and has 44 volumes published and is nearing the end of the seventy-five episode anime adaptation as well. That’s not the end of the series itself though for the manga as the second storyline is set to begin in the spring with a fresh first chapter and a fresh first compilation later on that will likely see bigger sales as a jumping on point for new fans. ‘Ace Of The Diamond’ Anime Goes Into Extra Innings With Two More Seasons

The anime adaptation of Ace of the Diamond is just hitting solid runs all around these days as we recently learned that there would be three OVAs produced for it that would be bundled with limited edition manga releases. Now things just got even better for the fans of the show as the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine is announcing that the esries is getting extended by two more seasons. With it previously set to run for five episodes that would take us through the summer 2014 season, it’s now going to extend to a run that will end in March 2015 instead with closer to eighty episodes depending on how they bring it all together. ‘Ace Of The Diamond’ Manga Slots Two More OVAs

With a pretty lengthy run so far on TV, the anime adaptation of the manga series Ace of the Diamond is taking a dip into the manga side as well. We learned last week that the upcoming 44th volume of the series, which is set to land on November 17th, will have a limited edition DVD release bundle as well. The episode is called Face -Kominato Ryosuke Special Bangai-hen-" (Face: Ryosuke Kominato Special Bonus Story), which was a story that appeared in the official guidebook. No pricing for the bundle is available yet but it’s expected that the production is an extension of the ongoing TV series. READ MORE...

Pony Canyon Sets ‘Ace of the Diamond’ Japanese Anime DVD Release Schedule

Pony Canyon has finally started to set up another of their series for home video release, albeit a bit late in the game, with  Ace of the Diamond  now set to begin its run on May 21st, 2014. The series, which looks like it’ll run for 52 episodes total, is getting a DVD only release that will run for thirteen volumes. The first five volumes have been solicited on Amazon Japan so far and they’re priced at 3,990 yen each with four episodes per volume. It’s expected that this is aimed more at the rental market and that a couple of Blu-ray box sets will eventually be released. Crunchyroll Adds ‘Ace Of The Diamond’ For Fall 2013 Anime Lineup

Crunchyroll is continuing to be one of the few places that will deal with sports series, and for that we’re eternally thankful, as they’ve picked up the simulcast rights for  Ace of the Diamond , which is based off of the manga of the same name by Yuji Terajima. ‘Ace Of The Diamond’ Fall Anime Gets First Promo

After getting the cast information recently, the first promotional video for the fall sports series  Ace of the Diamond  has debuted and it’ll definitely make sports fans happy in general.  The new series brings Yuji Terajima’s manga to life at Madhouse and Production I.G. on October 6th. The original manga, which is still ongoing, began in Weekly Shonen Magazine back in 2006 and has thirty seven volumes to date.
