American Hot Rod is a TV Series on The Learning Channel and Discovery Channel which is similar to American Chopper. Unlike American Chopper which only builds custom bikes, the crewmembers in the show do construction of various hot rods and custom cars in Boyd Coddington's shop located in La Habra, California. The series showcases the crew of Boyd Coddington, along with their constant struggles to build custom cars under extremely tight deadlines under the supervision of Shop Manager Duane Mayer, Boyd's right-hand man. The show is also well known for its regular firings as well as constant turnover of crewmembers.
