Assassination Classroom Episode #21 Anime Review

Well it’s been something of a winding road, but we’re finally towards the climax of this arc. It’s been a bit of a mixed bag overall compared to how smooth the series is normally, but it looks like things are finally starting to payoff in a big way. While a good chunk of it is more of the same, it ends on a pretty heavy note, and one that makes for a pretty epic cliffhanger, headed into the finale. Before quite getting to that scene though, there’s some fun to be had in the episode. Where things last left off the students go up against the next assassin and it turns into a hide-and-go seek game of sorts as they scurry around the area trying to hide their locations. This makes for a mostly enjoyable scenario on it’s own but Korosensei decides to use the situation as a way to give the two sniper kids a bit of a life lesson. Both are kind of silent doormats, and take on a lot of extra burdens as a result, but he shows them that they can rely on the others when things get tough. That assistance comes pretty quickly, as thanks to the other students moving around so much, they manage to trick the assassin into shooting a dummy and incapacitate him. Admittedly this student-of-the-week moment would probably work better if these students were more inherently interesting, but it’s a solid little piece for the most part. READ MORE...
