The Most Important Shows on TV: Week of November 10, 2014

Which TV series will your friends (and the entire internet) be talking about this week? Stay informed—or at least be able to fake it—with SideReel's weekly guide to The Most Important Shows on TV.   The Blacklist  (Midseason Finale) Monday at 10:00pm on NBC Why: It's the midseason finale, which means shit's gonna happen! Berlin's daughter is alive! WHAAAA? Liz is keeping Tom captive in a frigid basement. WHAAAA? Red's definitely going to tell us some secrets, right? And then we'll all be like WHAAAA? Prepare to talk about: What's the deal with Berlin's daughter? Will Tom freeze to death? (Let's hope so! He's annoying!) Will Red FINALLY tell us for sure that he's Liz's dad? He's definitely Liz's dad, right? Anyway, if anyone asks you what you thought just be like "WHAAA!? AMIRITE!?"     New Girl Tuesday at 9:00pm on FOX Why: Because this show has become the  Frasier  replacement we deserve. After last week's meth-related farce, this episode brings us Winston trying to endear himself to their neighbors, and Nick pretending to be gay around Jess's new man. This is a recipe for comedy gold! (I'm not even being sarcastic.) Prepare to talk about: How you're still laughing at Nick's string of confessions from last week; how it'd actually be awesome to be neighbors of the gang; whether Nick and Jess are better awkwardly apart than they were together (I'm kind of "eh" on the subject, myself; you can use that line if you need to).     Atlantis  (Season Premiere) Saturday at 9:00pm on BBC and BBC America Why: Because you and/or your friends are really cool but also kind of nerdy! This internet favorite finally premieres its second season and the kingdom in which it takes place is about to collapse (into the sea?! Remains to be seen!). Ariadne and Jason are going to team up (sexily? Remains to be seen!). People will probs die. You know, normal stuff for ancient/mythological times. Prepare to talk about: How this show has better production values than most of its BBC compatriots ( Doctor Who , we're looking at you); how it's probably a metaphor for the times in which we live (isn't everything?); whether this show is the figurative methadone to get you through the the heroin withdrawal that is the  Game of Thrones  off-season.     Leah E.
