'Cult' series finale recap: Who is Steven Rae? We'll never find out.

As a series,"Cult" was pretty much DOA. After being moved to a different night halfway through its freshman run, its cancelation was all but expected. But since the first season had already been filmed, The CW decided to burn off the remaining six episodes to give fans some closure, ending on Friday night (July 12) with the series finale, "Executive Producer Steven Rae." So did all our questions get answered? Not even slightly. Sure, Nate was finally reunited with his brother Jeff after an entire season apart, but he was still obsessed with finding out the truth about the show within the show, "Cult." They found Philip's father's corpse in the basement of the Moon Hill house, and he had clearly been dead for a long time. The Moon Hill parents, all dead and buried in the walls of the the St. Clare Church, were killed by a group called the Erasmus. Jeff, Skye, and... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/07/cult-series-finale-who-is-steven-rae-well-never-find-out.html

Cult Season 1 Review “Suffer the Children” — Up on Moon Hill…

If Cult continues to be this good, I’m going to have to give up any reservations I had about it following the episode 2/3 slump. ‘Suffer the Children’ saw the mystery surrounding the ‘Cult’ TV show deepen with the reveal that Sakelik, everyone’s favourite crazy cop, was part of a cult as a child. A cult which may or may not have included Steven Rae among others. This reveal showed Jeff and Skye that not only does the mystery go back at least 25 years — possibly more, given that there were adult founders of the Moon Hill cult who disappeared — but that there is a way to possibly blackmail Sakelik into handing over Nate; the knowledge that, as a teenager, Sakelik, along with 3 others, broke into the house of a television star and killed her. Cult "The Good Fight" Review: Skye and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamscape

All in all, "The Good Fight" was a solid Jeff/Skye episode and a strong episode for establishing who Skye truly is and what her motivations are. Read More... //www.tv.com/news/cult-the-good-fight-review-skye-and-the-amazing-technicolor-dreamscape-136468225919/

Cult Season 1 Review “The Good Fight”

Two good episodes in a row? Cult is starting to look up! ‘The Good Fight’ saw Skye fall ill from aftereffects brought on by the drug she was slipped in last week’s episode. Her brain going into overdrive, Skye was subjected to a long dream-like sequence set in Billy’s compound. Here, Skye found her missing father, and was very nearly convinced to stay in the dream compound by him, Billy and a ‘reformed’ Kelly. Back out in the real world, Jeff searched for a way to contact Dustin, the kid with the drugs at the party, to no avail. Eventually, Jeff went to Detective Sakelik’s house and stole the confiscated drugs she had stashed away. But actions have consequences; later that day, Jeff’s boss and friend Bert is shot and rushed to hospital. READ MORE...

Cult "The Kiss" Review: Electric Kool-Aid Acid Trip

Aside from the problematic Skye/Kelly/Marti treatment, as far as the True Believer storyline goes, "The Kiss" was one of the more well-written stories of Cult that we've seen so far. //www.tv.com/news/cult-the-kiss-review-electric-kool-aid-acid-trip-136400799388/

Cult Season 1 Review “The Kiss”

Cult is finally revealing more pieces of the puzzle that is the True Believers, and this episode showed that when the different elements of the show come together, it really works. ‘The Kiss’ saw Jeff and Skye attend a set party for ‘Cult’ fans in hopes of tracking down one of Nate’s friends, Dustin, who has links with the True Believers. Dustin’s mother believes her son to be dangerous, and the episode built up the tension throughout. What could Dustin, and by extension the True Believers, be planning? While Jeff and Skye attempt to keep tabs on Dustin (with Skye being drugged by the irritating make up artist in true ‘Cult’ fashion), the ‘Cult’ actors have their own run ins with the TBs. Cult Season 1 Review “Get With the Program” — Don’t Write About Billy

‘Get With the Program’ saw Jeff and Skye team up with a woman whose husband was taken in much the same manner as Nate, and a ‘cult expert’ who finds cult members and deprograms them. It was an episode that should have revealed new information about the real life cult, the True Believers, but failed to do so. This was mostly because what we learned was fairly obvious. After tracking down the creators of the data discs, Jeff and the cult expert attempted to get answers out of one young hacker. (Side note: why the hack pad’s internet IP address was on the disc, and why the hackers kept a static IP address, is baffling.) He lead them to a drainage pipe on a shooting location used as Billy’s compound. Here seemingly kidnapped True Believers are locked away and tested to see if they can progress to the next level. Nate passed the test. READ MORE...

Cult "Get With the Program" Review: If It Quacks Like a Cult...

I’m still genuinely liking the story. I've been waffling, but “Get with the Program” clarified a lot of things that needed to be clarified, particularly with regard to how the True Believers operate. //www.tv.com/news/cult-get-with-the-program-review-if-it-quacks-like-a-cult--136340307890/
