Makoto and her cousins decide to visit a local festival, where Makoto discovers Kei's fear of haunted houses and jump scares. On the way back home, the trio encounter a roadside fortune teller who suddenly becomes interested upon hearing Makoto's name. The fortune teller reveals herself to be a dog-person named Inukai, who was tricked into being turned part dog after a drunken night of revelry with Makoto's sister Akane in the past. Makoto invites Inukai to the Kuramoto household and attempts to reverse Akane's spell with magical candy. Unfortunately, the candy temporarily makes Inukai more dog-like. Later, Akane shows up and says that Inukai brought the transformation on herself by eating Akane's magic chocolate despite being warned not to, and that the spell would eventually fade in the future.
