'Glee' Recap: 'Rumours'

I heard a rumor that after a few lackluster weeks, "Glee" would finally have a really solid episode. Turns out, Gleeks, that little piece of information was very much true. Not only did last night's ep feature some interesting new plot twists, but they also tried out an exciting lesson plan by performing nothing but songs from one classic rock album. There was no way this episode could be bad when it began with Brittany's awesomely low-budget web show "Fondue For Two" (or three, in this case), which combined two of her favorite things: hot cheese and talking to people! During her debut broadcast, Britt invited Tina and Mercedes—who are apparently two of McKinley's biggest gossips—to share some juicy news. In addition to introducing her Atkins-adhering cat Lord Tubbington, Britt dropped something even bigger—the bombshell that Santana is in the closet. Two of Glee's Underused Gems Got to Shine

Dear Glee  writers, We would like to thank you for finally getting around to using more of your nearly forgotten core cast. It's been a while since some of them uttered more than a line, what with all of the guest stars and Kurt's beatification, but in last night's Fleetwood Mac-themed outing, we got to see what a couple of the extras, er, members of the ensemble , could do with actual storyline.... //www.tvguide.com/News/Watercooler-Glee-Fleetwood-1032669.aspx?rss=breakingnews

Fleetwood Mac a hit with Gleeks: Why 'Rumours' is still groovy after 34 years

While the music picked for "Glee" is usually a plot aid -- helping to clarify characters' emotions and motivations for us simpletons -- sometimes the songs themselves transcend the storyline to remind us of the pure joy of listening to good music. That was the case with "Glee's" very first episode and the cast's passionate cover of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'." Arguably, that one song basically sold us on the entire concept. It happened again on Tuesday (May 3) when the cast took on Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours." Somehow an album released in 1977 -- long before "Glee," iTunes and openly gay TV characters -- resonated with "Glee's" audience. So, for the newly-converted Fleetwood Mac fans, here's the 411 on "Rumours": The album, as pointed out by Kurt (Chris Colfer), was recorded when the band was at a particularly tense point relationship-wise.  Singer Stevie Nicks (or you could just call her "Gypsy") and guitarist Lindsay Buckingham had... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/fleetwood-mac-a-hit-with-gleeks-why-rumours-is-still-groovy-after-34-years.html

'Glee': Jane Lynch tries on Ann Coulter, David Bowie for size

Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) is mostly predictable. Aside from a soft spot for her sister and the rare random act of kindness, she's "Glee's" resident villain -- doing her best to thwart Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) and the glee club at every turn.On Tuesday's (May 3) episode, the Fleetwood Mac-inspired "Rumours," Sue didn't have tons of screen-time, but she did leave an impression: First as a spot-on "Ziggy Stardust"-era David Bowie, complete in sparkly unitard and make-up. But just as soon as we got comfortable with Sue as the Starman, she morphed into right-wing talking head Ann Coulter -- complete with long bottle-blond hair and shoulder pads. Why Coulter? In February, Lynch told the New York Post that Coulter would never be invited to guest star on "Glee" because she's far too polarizing. "Oh, no, that would never happen," said Lynch. "She's not funny... but maybe Sue would be friends with her."So perhaps this was a... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/glee-jane-lynch-tries-on-ann-coulter-david-bowie-for-size.html

'Glee' Preview: Prom, Jesse St. James and Slap in the Face

Next week would be the " Glee " episode which had people talking. Beside being given a spoiler, courtesy of the show's extra, about who would be the prom king and queen, this is the episode where the New Direction boys would cover   Rebecca Black 's "Friday", and where   Jonathan Groff   returns as Jesse St. James.   An extra spilled last month on Twitter about who would be the prom queen and king in the May 10 episode, inviting wrath from not only fans but the show's co-creator Brad Falchuck. It is, however, unclear whether the spoiler, which names Kurt and Dave Karofsky as queen and king respectively, contains truth.    Read More... //www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00040237.html

'Glee': The genius of Brittany's stupidity

As we wrote Monday (May 2), we'd watch "Fondue for Two" -- Brittany's (Heather Morris) web show -- for hours on end. It's just that fascinating. And it provided us all with a timely reminder of just how awesome Morris is at playing a loveable dolt. In "Rumours," Brittany showcased her world-class idiocy via webcam when she inadvertently (at least we think it was inadvertent) outed Santana (Naya Rivera) as "playing for the other team." She also denied cheating on Artie (Kevin McHale) with Santana, saying, "Isn't cheating, just friends talking with their tongues super-close." She got that from Santana, but we had a feeling she totally believed it. Still Brittany's best lines of the night were in fact encapsulated in her fabulous Web show. Our favorite quote had absolutely nothing to do with the show's plot, but we'll share anyway: "Just because we're doing this interview doesn't mean I'm not mad at you. Cuz I... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/glee-the-genius-of-brittanys-stupidity.html

'Glee': Watch Brittany's web show, 'Fondue for Two'

Tuesday's (May 3) episode of "Glee" centers on "Rumours," the utterly awesome '70s Fleetwood Mac album. But based on a clip posted to the show's official YouTube channel, we'll get plenty of rumors, too. As in straight up gossip. In the clip, we get a peek at Brittany's (Heather Morris) web show, the hilariously-named "Fondue for Two" -- though, as Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) points out, there are three of them. But when does Brittany ever make sense? As Brittany explains, the show combines her two favorite things: "Hot cheese and talking to people." In this webisode, Brittany sits down with "the school's biggest gossips" Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Tina. Who knew? Anyhow, while burning their tongues with skewers dripping molten cheese, the three dish some McKinley High dirt. Watch as Brittany drops a bombshell about Santana, then proceeds to play with her cat, Lord Tubbington. We'll leave the symbolism up to you.... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/glee-watch-brittanys-web-show-fondue-for-two.html
