Gareki is saved from a varuga that has swallowed him by the serendipitous appearance of Eva. A hidden notebook with technical information is found when the place Nai lived with with Karoku is searched. Nai, Gareki and Yogi visit Karasuna, the town Gareki used to live in. While there, we learn of Gareki's past as they meet acquaintances of him, Tsubame and her twin bother Yotaka.
