You And Me Season 2 Episode #12 Anime Review

While the series in general deals well with covering the cast as a whole in showing us different stories focusing on them individually or in smaller groups, it’s felt to me like this season has had little in the way of good Kaname material. Especially in comparison to the first season, which may just be my memory playing tricks on me. So when the show deals with him, I’m particularly glad, especially as a chunk of this takes us out of the norm as his parents out of town and that means spending a meal or two with his neighbors, and he’s definitely looking forward to that. With some definite interest abound in there, it makes some good fun to be had. At least until time spent with her reveals that she’s getting married to a coworker, leaving his fantasy dreams completely unrealistic. READ MORE...

You And Me Season 2 Episode #11 Anime Review

As You and Me’s second season inches closer to the end, the show is spending a fair bit of time dealing with Mary, which is somewhat surprising since she was absent from a lot of the first season and most of the second season as well. Not that she’s a bad thing though as her place in the picture definitely changes things a little bit and it’s neat to see how she makes an impact on people, especially with Chizuru. It’s helped to make him a bit more of a likable character and it’s also started to give us more on who she is. The biggest problem for her is that she was such an unknown for most of it that any time spent either felt like it didn’t add anything at all or was just a torrent of new information since she was actively involved in events. You And Me Season 2 Episode #10 Anime Review

With the series advancing in time nicely over the course of the season, the show has now stared to enter the cool spring months where the skies are clearing and there’s a sense of green just around the corner. It’s also getting close to graduation time and that ceremony is coming up, which is one of the big transitional times in the school year as a lot of focus goes towards sending off the senior class. The guys are all going through the motions at this point, but they’re actually showing some awareness of their surroundings when it comes to Mary. She hasn’t been around for a bit after what happened with Chizuru, but the rest of the guys don’t know what happened and how things are between the two nw. READ MORE...

You And Me Season 2 Episode #09 Anime Review

One of the things we haven’t seen really used all that much in the series is confusion between the two brothers. There was some mild elements of it at the start, especially when Chizuru first got introduced to the group, but for the most part it’s been pretty tame. This episode makes it a bit of a focus though as it revolves around Yuki as the primary, with Yuta drawn in through an accident. What’s welcome is that we do see some of what a typical teen does in Japan when they want money as there are so many simple paid by the day kind of jobs out there. Yuki’s first foray into work isn’t that basic, but he’s the first of them to really enter that aspect of adulthood. READ MORE...

You And Me Season 2 Episode #08 Anime Review

While we’ve had a few episodes that have dealt with the twins in a few ways and Chizuru had a very good episode last time around with Mary, the show turns its focus towards Shun this week, which is welcome since he hasn’t had much involvement for awhile. Shun’s a fun character even if he is the most girlish of the group because that tends to add a different kind of fun to what goes on. He’s so connected to how he feels that it can frustrate others or over excite them, but there’s a certain honesty about him that’s very appealing. He wears his emotions on his sleeve so it’s only natural that when something happens to his younger brother, he takes it pretty personally. READ MORE...

You And Me Season 2 Episode #07 Anime Review

When it comes to holidays and school, the evil one can definitely be attributed to Valentine’s Day and White Day in Japan since there seems like there’s always someone left out and feelings hurt. With You & Me, the show kicks off by letting us see just how, um, normal Chizuru can be, which feels weird. Seeing him go through a near-wet dream over Mary is certainly cute, especially since in his dream he tries honestly to get her to stop, but then goes with the reality afterwards when he wakes up about how he wouldn’t. Yet you know that he really would try to get her to stop because it’d be a situation he couldn’t handle well. Chizuru is a kind of standard character and bothers me sometimes, but they do give him just enough nuance to have him feel fun and amusing even when he could be frustrating. READ MORE...

You And Me Season 2 Episode #06 Anime Review

You & Me continues it slow but steady progress with this set of characters, though the previous episode wasn’t all that interesting since it focused on a new character a lot and largely sidelined the main cast. With this episode, the focus shifts back to Yuki for the majority of it and calls back to an earlier story in the series with Kayo, the young woman who works in the cafeteria. It also ties back to that same story that dealt with the stickers that Yuki collected in which she started to give him some of them for his collection. His interest in her was obvious back then, even in his own closed way, but it’s taking some interesting turns here. READ MORE...

You And Me Season 2 Episode #05 Anime Review

The shrine traditional kicks into full gear here as the new year is underway and the five young men make their way to the local one to make their offerings. It’s traditional material to be sure and You & Me doesn’t stray from what most series do, though at least it’s kept pretty much peaceful and calm when you get down to it. The lack of excessive drama or hyperactivity is pretty welcome. What the situation does bring in is a little bit of an adventure though as Chizuru comes across a key on the ground near the shrine and, through an accident, tosses it into the offering bin just as the man who owns the bike it belongs to arrives. You And Me Season 2 Episode #04 Anime Review

With the cast of You & Me, there are those that you can gravitate more towards than others. Kaname in general is the most accessible for people because he’s the most open, though that’s not saying a heck of a lot. While I do like him the best, I am drawn to the twins and how they interact since they’re operating that similar and yet not angle pretty well. Both Yuta and Yuki have a very different relationship than all their friends because, as they note, they’ve been together since birth and there’s no escaping that. But when they are apart, you wonder what they’re erally thinking and going through. READ MORE...

You And Me Season 2 Episode #03 Anime Review

As does happen sometimes with series, you get episodes that come at completely awkward times. Case in point is the latest episode of You & Me in which we get a Christmas themed episode in the middle of April. Even if this aired in the previous season it would have missed Christmas by a few weeks but at least it would have come closer to it (and not on a day where it’s ninety degrees here!). That said, it’s easy enough to ignore things like this and just enjoy what the boys do since that’s a good deal of what makes this series so enjoyable. With it being the season, the gang has opted to spend Christmas together watching movies which is always fun, though sometimes it’s hard to believe this group could agree on things to watch.
