Madam Secretary Finale Recap 5/20/18: Season 4 Episode 22 “Night Watch”

The whole family sits on the steps of the Lincoln monument in DC. Henry is annoyed they are all on their phones. Meanwhile, Jay and Matt play tennis while Daisy walks the dog and the baby in the park. She meets a single guy who is also walking his dog. Russell, Ellen, and Dalton play golf. Kat is in the kitchen grabbing food when Blake offers to help her write her 500-page dossier. Dalton gets a call on the course that Russia is in the middle of bombing them. Missiles will strike the mainland in 20 minutes. No-one can get in touch with Liz who is now playing video games with the family. Jay gets texted. He leaves Matt to get to work. It is a truth universally known that Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord has no intention of becoming the President of the United States. We have seen her turn the offer down numerous times throughout this series. In this fourth season finale of Madam Secretary, however, Elizabeth thinks twice about her decision when the Russians launch missiles at the United States. The Pentagon warns President Dalton, while the latter is out golfing, that the Russians are launching nuclear missiles. As a result, the president has minutes to decide whether or not to initiate a counter-attack. Eventually, the president gave the green light. Soldiers in Northern Iraq enjoy food together. One soldier is on the lookout. Gunfire erupts. Liz is eating in anticipation of her upcoming fast for Ramadan. Henry teases her but joins her after she threatens no sex for a month. The next morning, Blake tries to give Liz her usual breakfast muffin. She turns him down. The team meets. Liz is called to the White House right away. A dam in Iraq is the target of rebels who are demanding their leader and 2,000 so fighters being imprisoned be released or they will blow up the dam. Russell’s wife drives him to the office. She is yelling at him for his high-stress levels and heart issues. She sees Stevie holding a coffee and waiting for him. She snaps at her. I really hope none of you have heart conditions. Because if you do, the adrenaline inducing Madam Secretary Season 4 Episode 22 may not be medically advised for your viewing pleasure. On the other hand, it can't be more stressful that reality. Madam Secretary Season 4 Episode 21 Review: Protocol

Action scenes are so boring. At least they are when I don't care one lick about any of the people shooting or being shot. Madam Secretary Season 4 Episode 21 could have saved some money and cut the scenes at the dam with the commandos and I'd have been perfectly happy. Madam Secretary Recap 4/8/18: Season 4 Episode 17 “Phase Two”

An American businessman talks to a Saudi leader in a Saudi Arabian mall. The businessman talks about building the country into something that is bigger and better than Manhattan’s infrastructure. Four months later, Liz and the family sit for breakfast. The news is on. Jason watches as Senator Morejon criticizes the White House, particularly Liz, and their policies. They are the reason this bombing occurred and innocent people died. He blames Liz’s U.S./Iran arms deal, claiming that Iranian government funneled money from phase one to fund the bombing. Russell, POTUS, and Liz talk about what they can do with Iran who is funding their enemies. Russell is very impatient. He wants to know what they can do to speed this up. Liz tells them that they want in on the SWIFT banking system. POTUS agrees to discuss it to move them forward. READ MORE...

Madam Secretary Recap 4/1/18: Season 4 Episode 16 “My Funny Valentine”

It’s Daniel’s birthday party in the office, Pete asks Marla for dinner goes to leave, he is in the stairwell and all of a sudden there is an explosion. Pete goes back into the office, Daniel is there and his eyes have been damaged, he can’t see. Pete finds Marla, she appears to be dead. Elizabeth is advised that she has to give some brief remarks, followed by the names of all the victims and then there will be a moment of silence, followed by a small reception. Elizabeth disagrees, she is not looking for a parade, but there should be more than a small reception since they are commemorating the 20th anniversary of an attack that took the live of many people. Elizabeth wants everyone’s names mentioned who died. Jay asks Elizabeth if she wants him to scale up the memorial, she says its ok as long as they say all the names it should be ok. Elizabeth tells Jay that even though Special Envoy Peter Harriman can be a pain, go easy on him because he survived the bombing in 1998 – Jay says he will do it. Jay is with Pete in a meeting and Pete asks him why the White House is so eager to lift sanctions all of a sudden, Pete says something stinks. Kat says that Sudan has done what they wanted, they have stopped supporting terrorism, they are allowing more food aid to the population so in short, the sanctions have been lifted because they worked. Ten years prior, Conrad gives a speech as he runs for the governor of California. Fast forward to present day, Conrad is checked out by his doctor. If he passes he will return to his position as POTUS. He seems unsure if he will take the oval again. It’s the morning grind. Liz and Henry talk to Ally about her aunt coming to visit. She wants to see an art exhibit. Liz heads off to work. The once imprisoned President of Burmese has come to DC to be presented with the Medal of Freedom. Liz and the others welcome him in front of the White House. He has a screaming group of fans who all admire him. Russell goes to see Conrad. The president tells him that he isn’t ready to sign the papers to return to office. He needs more time. Later that morning Liz’s team all dart at her as soon as she gets off the elevator. They want to know about Conrad. Meanwhile, Kat reports on a UNICEF issue. Muslims in Bermise are fleeing to the border. They meet with the Burmese president but he isn’t too concerned and evasive about the humanitarian crisis. READ MORE...

Liz loads the dishwasher as she talks to Henry and Jason about meeting the president of Sri Lanka. Stevie comes in. She has been teaching herself how to say hello in their language. Ally shows up home for Spring Break. Jason comes in to see the team and update them on what they need to prepare for. It is revealed that the president of Sri Lanka will have his psychic with him when Liz meets them. This gets a laugh out of Matt. Ally gets off the phone in a huff. She is having roommate troubles. Henry tries to give her advice about her friend Lucinda who is high maintenance and very needy. She doesn’t want to hang out with anyone but Ally. Liz and Jay welcome the president of Sri Lanka who sits with them for tea. His psychic would like to give a reading. As they try to talk politics, Ranuga the psychic, leans towards the president and whispers in his ear. He tells the room that that they cannot move forward with the trade agreement.
