Too many shows bowing out next year! This, Lucifer, The Good Place... At least they know in advance so they can tie things up a bit.

I knew this day would come eventually but I'm still sad. Glad they can go out with a bang on their own terms with a conclusion they planned.

I think it could've been a lot better but they tried to do too much with time travel, space and extreme powers. I like back when they were taking care of Inhumans, Deathlok and Hydra. If they expanded on that or came out with other storylines like that it would've been good, even the Ghost Rider one was ok I guess.

Knew this day was coming but sad nonetheless. Has been thoroughly enjoyable, with some real laugh out loud moments. Real shame it has to end.

@BarkingAuto Ghost Rider has been made into a new Tv series, with the same actor who played him in Agents of Shield. However I believe it is going to be aired on Hulu

It's a shame that the show has to end, but it's had a great run. I'm thankful to everyone who worked on the show for making such a great one, and to all the fellow fans who helped support it this whole time. I am sad to see it go, but I'm sure they'll do a great job of wrapping it up.

Sad day. This is currently my favorite show on TV right now (I'm watching about 15 shows that are either currently airing or are on hiatus right now). But at least we know when it'll end unlike every other year where we had to prepare ourselves that the season finale might be the series finale.

Pretty impressive for how lackluster season 1 was how far they've climbed in quality and are now the longest running MCU TV show.

@Snootz Yeah I heard about that, can't say im really excited. I like the SHIELD dynamic but I am interested to see what they do with Ghost Rider. I like the old Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze more than Robbie Reyes.

Marvel is moving to Disney and they already have plans for next shows. Maybe in the future they will revive Shields. Who knows?

I still haven’t quite gotten over being so impressed by this season’s episode “Inescapable”. If the show is still capable of giving us that much quality, I think we could be in for an amazing wrap-up.

Also, though it was a neat gimmick at first to intertwine events and characters from MCU movies as they released, I’m very happy that the series is no longer being held back in that manner. As many places as this show has gone since then, I can’t wait to see what their planned final season will involve.

'Twas a nice run! I really loved that they would reference what's going on in the movies from time to time!

Writing was on the wall. Marvel is now fully WOKE and SHIELD doesn't fit the WOKE narrative. RIP good Marvel content, you will be missed. Disney care more about preaching propaganda to the viewer than writing good stories. They have forgot that people watch superheroes based fiction to escape the crap we get in real life, not to have more political correctness shoved down our throats.

Flea

About time. It lost the plot several seasons ago.

I have to agree with certain comments, such as it losing the plot.

I was watching tonight's episode, in which a being from space, takes over humans etc thing, this was better when it was following the plots of the film.

It lead me to question certain things, like If Shield were able to fly into space, why have they not done that previous to season 5?

3. Why have no one in the Marvel movies, ever used the shield plane? Not even to fly to Thor's planet?
4. Why do no aliens on Shield, ever mention Thor? I mean he....soon to be she, is supposed to be a god.
5. Why wasn't Daisy, Yo yo, Mack or any other Agent, in Avengers of Shield, and yet a bloody driver/Butler from Agent Carter
6. Why didnt they ask the Help of Dr Strange? I mean he could have found Fitz in Early Season 6, or Retrieved everyone from the future in Season 5.
7. When in Season 4, they were stuck in that computer world, that Aida set up, why didnt they use the help of Deathlok? - Plug him into the mains etc.

It turns out that Marvel brought the series to an end. They wanted to go out on their own terms rather than being cancelled by the network.

@Snootz
3. Asgard is in another dimension/realm as shown in Thor 2 The Dark World so they wouldn't be able to fly there but places like Xandar should be able to be flown to even if it takes time I agree.
4. Lady Sif was on Agents of SHIELD in one of the earliest seasons which I liked, it seems they have disconnected quite a bit from the movies but I miss the time they were more connected. Also I think it is Thor's ex girlfriend that becomes the new God of thunder.
5. Agent Carter had a huge amount of fan support and Peggy herself was in the first Captain America movie and I guess it was necessary for Howard Stark's butler to be in there for a little more authenticity and to complete it a little more. I do agree it sucks that at least Coulson or any other SHIELD agent didn't come into the main MCU movies or even vice versa.
6. Yeah if they could ask any of the Avengers for help, things would be a lot easier and faster and with the MCU using time travel as well as this show using time travel in different ways, it really seems disconnected. Fitz seems almost as smart as Tony Stark.
7. I don't think Deathlok has great control over computer systems especially his own.

I like these points though, really interesting.

I often get Cyborg from DC and Deathlok mixed up.

It's also a shame they never, ever used anyone from X-men.

Technically Colossus from X-men, could have been beneficial, in many ways. Whether it's blocking Izel's bugs from getting into him or saving Shield from earlier threats, when the Inhuman's story line came about. In fact, where were the rest of the X-men? to either fight against them, or to bring them into Xavier's school/training.

Why has Hydra never teamed up with Magneto? I suspect this though being because Magneto was Jewish, and Hydra having Nazi connections.

William Stryker from X-men was always against Inhuman's, so why has he never clashed with the inhuman's from Shield? Or why has he never sided with Glenn Talbot.

General Thaddeus E.Ross (Hulk), Stryker (X-men) and Glenn Talbot (Shield), who are all Army guys, in the same Army. Why do they not know each other? and why have they never helped each other out?

Can you tell I don't read the comic lol

What they could have done with the help from War Machine......

I give up. I should stop thinking about all the 'what ifs' before my head hurts.

I think X-men and the rest of Marvel are kept generally somewhat separate even though they are technically in the same world and should be fighting the same threats.

I agree with the General Ross, Talbot and Stryker being able to work together but I guess they just have that type of bad guy for every extra-human or supernatural people

Inhumans and mutants are different though. Inhumans are genetically experimented on by Kree then forgotten about or something. Mutants have an X gene but I'm not sure how they get that. They probably should learn their powers a similar way and can have similar types of powers but somehow the town the X-men are in only hate mutants and the X-men only help mutants as far as I know. It is odd they have Wanda and Pietro Maximoff in the MCU though.

Yes, Inhumans are what the MCU used to take the place of mutants, the cinematic rights to which were sold off years ago. Inhumans never really took off (and the show didn't help) so I imagine Disney is happy to get the rights to mutants back. From what I've heard the division between the films and the tv shows comes down to different department heads not getting along with each other. Disappointing, as I thought we were supposed to learn that in kindergarten.

After watching the season finale I'm so excited for the next season. I like how they ended it and they more or less seemed to fix everything. So many developments I'm interested in finding out. Just the right level of cliffhanger too, I'm very excited but also ok with waiting for the next season.

I somehow missed the news that the last two seasons were so short. I was expecting a setup for the back half of the season and instead got a finale. Drat. Oh, well. At least they wrapped things up well.

See, I am the opposite, I was more disappointed.
The story line for this season was going to well, I was really excited to watch the next episode ( well in the last few episodes) and then it all ended so quickly.

Perhaps it could have done with more episodes, or perhaps continued to another season.

But the last episode did leave me excited enough to wish for the series to hurry back.

Yeah I guess it did end very suddenly. The season did seem pretty short but I'm glad they didn't push it till it went bad. I don't like when shows keep giving tiny reasons to keep characters or problems when they can be solved or have been solved and I don't really see what else they could have done with it so even though it was sudden, I am impressed though somewhat confused with the conclusion of the main story arc. At least the real end/teaser of the next season got me hyped.
