After Suigetsu shows him the scroll he and Jugo found in one of Orochimaru's hideouts, Sasuke decides to meet with Orochimaru. Sasuke proceeds to explain to Suigetsu that Orochimaru actually survived Itachi's attack as the curse marks hold his consciousness, watching the events unfold from Anko. As Sasuke uses the Evil Releasing Method to extract the consciousness from Anko's curse mark, Jugo uses a piece a of Kabuto's flesh to create a new body for Orochimaru. Expressing shock that Sasuke would actually bring him back, unable to act due to his current condition, Orochimaru asserts that he shows more interest in taking Sasuke's body than in the war before being shown the scroll. Accepting his former student's request to take him to those with the answers he is looking for, Orochimaru extracts his remaining chakra from the still immobile Kabuto before the group departs. Back on the battle field, Tobi decides to finally resurrect the Ten-Tails. Though Kakashi wondered ho it would be possible without the Eight-Tails and the Nine-Tails, Gy?ki reveals the Akatsuki obtained a piece of his tentacle. Kurama also states the treasured tools, though the Gold and Silver Brothers, possessed his Chakra. Though Tobi tells the Ten-Tails's revival would be incomplete, the Infinite Tsukuyomi can still be achieved either way. As the group is rallied to fight, Naruto enters his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode and prepared to attack the Gedo Statue.
