Jules and Celeste are away but Catherine’s peace is shattered when Anne arrives in great distress, having fled the Tauranga Light Opera’s Pirates of Penzance. She claims Micky kissed another player. Mac’s affair with Lauren remains their naughty secret but is interrupted by the arrival of Micky. Catherine and Mac find themselves trying to deal with their parents’ dramatics. Mac gives Micky a serve about his inability to stick to relationships and Catherine tries to talk some sense into her mother. Mac is upset when Lauren informs him Frank wants to live with Jo. Meanwhile, Quiz at the Beagle is thrown into disarray when the Quiz Master is replaced with a not very funny comedienne called Lucy Moorhead. Michelle and Brian track down the Quiz Master but he is too upset to return and feels he’s not wanted. Michelle learns that Lucy is his ex-girlfriend and he is the butt of many of her jokes. Michelle tries to woo the Quiz Master but her gets the wrong idea and feels used. When Catherine puts two and two together she realizes that Mac is sleeping with Lauren, the children’s lawyer. All the sympathy he gets because of Jo getting custody of the kids seems hypocritical to her. She leaves Quiz Night in disgust – after giving Lucy Moorhead a real bollocking. Mac goes after her. They argue and then kiss and nearly have sex. Catherine calls a halt at the last moment and Mac leaves, bewildered. While back at the Beagle, Lucy is jeered and walks out, leaving Micky to take up the reins – much to Anne’s delight. She and Micky reconcile, while Michelle sends the Quiz Master a vid of the crowd demanding his return. He really is wanted.
